InactiveI disagree! My success is due to promoting free bonuses at my sites.

vladcizsolMemberI strongly disagree also. Bonuses are an integral part of the business and a VERY valuable sales tool.
Quite frankly I dont list casinos on my network if they DONT have a strong bonus to offer my players.

InactiveFrom your feedback, I get the feeling that promoting a casino brand without a sign-up bonus is a bad idea (especialy if you want to attract good gaming affiliates).
Is there an ideal bonus sign up amount?
(Do you get better results from $100 or $300?)

InactivePitboss UK i would recommend putting up some of each if you have the space. More and more players have signed up at some of the less honest or tricky bonuses and have been burned and just want to play an honest game.
If someone wants an orange sell him (or her) an orange, if they want an apple give them and apple.
Some players also percieve if a casino is offering a big bonus up front they must be taking from the back.
Just some food for thought.

InactiveSo, offering one sign-up bonus that suits one affiliate could well alienate another. Therefore having a range of different offers to chose from is a sensible approach.
Where would you draw the line on wagering restrictions? Is 20 times excessive?
(I heard that a lot of players complain when they go to draw their funds and they can’t because of wagering restrictions).

This can be a huge headache and source of frustration for players. Anything we can do to minimize this would be very beneficial.
Perhaps better education for the player at time of acceptance of a bonus and a reasonable play thru requirement would clear much of this up.

InactiveWill make a note.

InactiveI would love to promote a casino that doesnt offer a signup bonus. Instead of offering a signup bonus I would like to see a better loyalty program and great incentives for regular players.
I think most of the big whales dont care too much about the sign up bonus, I have players depositing 20k a month, I dont think they care about a $100 sign up bonus.January 30, 2004 at 8:10 pm #644147Anonymous
InactiveI also would rather sell the casino by its brand then a signup gimmick. Though there’s no denial it does work and the bulk of the online casino business is built on bonuses. I personnally go for the real gamblers who take risks and rather than the bonus punters. I also agree with Playsafe that the high rollers don’t care much for initial signup bonuses.

GuestME TOO! I’m with Playsafe all the way.
In fact; and this is true, some of you might even remember seeing them, I used to run PPC ads that said; no bonuses here; so please don’t click on this link if that’s what you’re looking for.
and I know I’ve been spoiled. I get very few players but make a nice income; I’ve almost never had a chargeback; if you exclude 2 questionables because I don’t really believe they were chargebacks; then I’ve never had one.
gathering from what I’ve heard from other webmasters; I’ve been nearly blessed to have not had any.
On my sites (except poker and slots) I preach to stay away from the bonuses; contact support and say I don’t want it.
……………..
now all that said: I know people making a lot more than I am who base their sites on freebies and bonuses. So go figure.
I just have a hard time bringing myself to try that route.

InactiveOk,
I can see that there are 2 sides to this discussion and both seem to be equaly valid.
I also take on board the comments about ‘Oranges’ and ‘Apples’.
Therefore, if it’s technically viable, I am leaning towards offering affiliates an either/or scenario where you can promote with or without the bonus sign up. (2 seperate landing pages)
Does anyone else do this?

vladcizsolMemberExcellent idea Chris, I am unaware of anyone doing this at this time.
You would have something unique and appealing to a broad swath of affiliate webmasters.
