Bodog.com postpones its Marketing Conference following BETonSPORTS debacle
Bodog.com released a statement few minutes ago announcing the postponement of the Bodog Marketing Conference, originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas July 23 thru 25.
“The Bodog.com Marketing Conference presents a wonderful opportunity for good discussion about marketing, customer service and about the growth of our industry; however, in the last few days, many of you who planned to attend the conference have expressed a high level of concern over the uncertainty surrounding the U.S. government’s recent actions against one of the companies in our industry. It is in light of these concerns that we have decided to postpone the Bodog.com Marketing Conference to a later date and at an international location. This decision ensures that the focus of the conference will not be lost.” Calvin Ayre said announcing the postponement.
The announcement comes in the wake of Indictments issued by the DoJ against BETonSPORTS and the arrest of the Company’s CEO David Carruthers last Sunday in Dallas.
Many industry observers said this would have been the time to keep a low profile. Calvin Ayre initially stated the conference would have gone on as planned but later changed his mind and followed a more wise approach to the situation the gaming industry is experiencing.
“I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you, but in spite of what has happened of late we chose to act with your best interests in mind. I assure you that we will make it up to you with a bigger and better conference to be announced in the near future.” Ayre continued in his note. “Bodog.com will carry on our business as usual and will continue to lead the way in digital entertainment.”

Seen this coming; good thing too. I have no doubt they would have snatched him up or as they would refer to it detained him. :hehe:
Hopefully things will change over the next few months or CAC will be affected as well. As pointed out, they are ruling by fear right now.
Aw crap. I thought Calvin would have stick it to US – would’ve been a good test case. But postponing is the prudent move. Can risk getting arrested with football season just a month away.
The big bodog party has not been cancelled.
who’s still going to vegas? maybe we should set up a little bar night sunday.

I will definately still be going and agree with setting up a meeting place for the Sunday. My impression is that people are still going. It is just going to be a matter of finding everyone
Anyone know the Wynn? Is my first time. Is there a bar where we could meet up?
I am also staying at the Wynn. It would be a great opportunity to all meet up ourselves and I am sure this can be planned.
