I think, i will have different approach…if you want to get total 40 links per month.

I will go this way
10 links from social media
10 links from blog reviews
10 links from press release
10 links from articles

I will try to mix up the links source

I would rather make 10 different articles a month and submit them to just 1 different article directory like ezine articles. I dont think you get more value by submitting the same article to 10 different article directories or more.
