Inactive9.95 per year.
:satisfiedSeriously, with 20 visitors a day … it has little unique value as an existing property … and “potential” is something usually only seen by sellers eyes.
Just having Blackjack in the name doesn’t do much for me .. and it’s not exactly type-in material with the pt suffix. Perhaps I don’t understand the signifcance of the PT other than automatically restricting your market to a small country of 14 million? (Portugal)
How many 1000’s of variants are out there similar to this ?
I’d say blackjackus.com, blackjackuk.com, blackjackde.com would all be better.December 20, 2005 at 2:32 am #678900Anonymous
Inactiveheh, thanks :]

Inactiveblackjackus.com and blackjackde.com seem to be free to the first person to decide to register them.
blackjackuk.com does exist … as a corporate audio/visual hire company …

Inactivesure – but your forgetting the PR5 and DMOZ listing.
just have a look at any link sales in the gambling industry – you can easily ask $100 – $200 for a link from PR5 DMOZ listed website.
and if you dont want to have the site oversaturated, you sell only 10 of them for $100 each => and you have the revenue right on the spot. Advertise it a bit better and the income doubles.
is that a virtual potential now?

InactiveWell you may be right then? If people REALLY will pay $100 to link to a low-traffic site just because it is PR5 then it sounds like a cash cow.
err … made any actual sales?

Inactive>>to link to a webiste<<
to a website? we are talking about a link from that website, not to it…havent sold anything from this site, but i own some other gambling-related sites where people actually do pay $200 for the links – and theres even a waiting list :]

InactiveThanks for the replies.
Don’t mind me.
:satisfiedI guess that I’m simply sceptical that a site with 20 users a day can deliver $100 value to anyone – let alone 10, 20, 30 users to justify any price tag above basic registration and transfer costs.
Why not simply start from scratch and register a new name?
That’s the reasoning behind my questions.December 20, 2005 at 8:01 am #678927Anonymous
Inactivelol there :]
i recommend a little chat to anyone whos trying to get his online gambling site listed in the DMOZ :] he’ll be able to tell you more – and i am sure you will meet a lot of them guys who have actually never got the pleasure of having their sites listed there…
its mainly SEO value that the links have, not the visitors – hence the price quoted. Even if i’m wrong – let assume the worst case scenario: what is the market price for a link from 1,5 yrs old site with PR5? There is no single way its going to be cheaper then $50 – ESPECIALLY with the limited number of outgoing links from the sites.
sure creating a new domain would be easier – but its gonna take you 1,5 yrs to have your site where mine now is (still assuming you’ll get listed in DMOZ, which may honestly be a challenge :])
isnt that something now?

InactiveGambling PR5 DMOZ is worth several thousand dollars.
However; if you buy a few PR 7 / PR 8 links and get a little more traffic it should quickly generate revenue.
From scratch it take a year to get to page rank. Getting gambling into DMOZ requires a skill most web master do not have.

InactiveThe site has a market of about 200 millions of persons.
Portugal + Brazil (180 millions).
Perhaps at http://www.afternic.com/ you may have an indicator of the real value.December 23, 2005 at 2:29 am #679132Anonymous
Inactiveyeah, i know both sedo and afternic. the thing is – noone is going to give you an appraisal there for a domain PR5 DMOZ listed domain…
the only way to find out its value is to aks people like you, webmasters that know the industry, the importance of DMOZ listing (and the trouble to get there), etc
for me the domain is worth $4k-$5k

InactiveIf you may have some approach to the huge brazilian market in your site, I think that your figure 4-5K is realistic.
