abbykungMemberI’ve been watching the 2011 WSOP tournament live on ESPN all this week, and they actually mentioned Black Friday. They said that despite the events of Black Friday, there has been a huge turn out to this years 2011 WSOP tournament. Seems like poker is still as popular as ever, and this is a fantastic sign for the industry. I think the US government will have to accept that poker is here to stay, and hence they need to regulate poker and online gambling in general. I have a good feeling it will be legalized in the near future, I can’t wait for that day :Partier:

Probably more than ever. If history has taught us one thing, is that an official ban on any idea, product, service, person etc. only makes the object more popular than it originally was.
Poker shall return to the US eventually, no doubt about it.

jncnetMemberAbsolutely, and if something is popular enough, it will never fully go away. It might get pushed down for a while, but it will make a comeback at some point.

Was actually surprised at how many people played in the ME. Was thinking it wouldnt go over 3k But happy to see that it seemed to have no effect on the numbers

I don’t like facebook either. I don’t have a personal account & I leave the social media work for my assistant. I think the term “Social media” is so accurate – as opposed to “Social life”…
But I don’t think it will be here forever. People are starting to get their valid accounts suspended (I know 3 people who this happened to) because of facebook’s war on spam. Eventually enough people will be forced to spend a few days without facebook to be reminded that there IS a life beyond farmville etc. If/when this happens it would probably be the first time in history that spammers do a good service to society!
