InactiveActually, I remember reading that if the WTO ruling is in favor of Antigua, which it appears to be, and the US goes against this ruling, in retribution, Antigua will not have to adhere to current digital media trade restrictions imposed by the US, for the sale of CD’s, DVD’s, software, etc.
What this implies is that little ‘ol Antigua could make illegal copies of this media, and sell them for pennies on the dollar, thus having the effect of driving prices for these items down enormously. Needless to say, the industries effected would have a major cow over this.
Again, this is all based on the info articulated several months back, from the defense attorney ( some lawyer from Texas), who is representing Antigua.
You can bet that the US response will be “I’ll do whatever I damn please, regardless of any ruling”.

biggygMemberI read on another forum weeks ago that antiqua was going to sell illegal copies of microsoft windows for 10 usd to get the US attention. This is one of the implications to usa business if antiqua gave the same blatant disregard for the law that US is doing now.

InactiveI was the orginal poster of the email going around regarding the revisitation of the Ports Bill.
Excuse the typo…. I am so sure that John has never, ever had one in a post!:sarcasm:
The fact that I indeed did spell the Senetor’s name incorrectly does not in any way negate the body of the post. I posted this in order to HELP all of the on-line players and affiliates voice their objections to the Bill. Good God John! Have you nothing intelligent to add to this discussion?
My initial theory was that even if nothing became of it; at least my (and hopefully others) voice was heard and I did something constructive to potentially rectify the bad situation we all; as players and affiliates, find ourselves in. (Yes, John…I also realize that is a run-on sentence. Perhaps you can find some other solution to this mess…rather than correct my spelling and grammar!)

InactiveYes I have something intelligent to add to the discussion!
Cite your Sources for this story? Cause right now I see nothing more then a remote possibility with no evidence to support the original claim.

Guestconsidering the situation, and the US’s lack of respect to justice beyond its own goals: I think it would be a sweet deal if this did happen. its the only way the due attention will be given to this situation. Money talks … sadly that is the golden rule in the states right now.
