Hi,
It has been brought to our attention that an email has been sent (below) by someone claiming to be with CAP. I can assure you they are in no way associated with us and if you look at the email address you will notice two ll’s in the word Affiliate. If you have received this email or one like it please forward it to me via email at brooke [at] casinoaffiliateprograms [dot] com.
Thanks for the warning.

franjooMemberSo let’s reverse engineer this philosophy.

antoineMemberHi All,
It happened to us a few weeks ago – http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/42990-affiliate-managers-be-aware-of-this-scam.html. It’s called “Brand Illusion Typo Phishing”.
The extra “L” in “Affiliate” is really difficult to detect.
These people waste everyones time.

For sh!#$ and giggles, I actually replied back to one of the email scams.. I think it was a Nigerian one. I made it out I was an old guy, not computer savvy, and all I do is just email. I had a conversation going with the scammer for about 2 weeks.
He caught on that I knew it was a scam, and I was pulling his leg. He confessed he was from Malaysia and was doing his scam from an internet cafe.
In the end, he still asked for $2000 to make the money transfer happen.
I still said no, I said I still need $50 from him to make his $2K money transfer happen.
He still said no.March 23, 2011 at 3:50 pm #815387
slotfeverMemberHey Everyone,
Here’s an article you can use to forward around to your network to tell them what’s going on and what the scam looks like.
Breaking News: Affiliate Impersonator on the Prowl | Casino Affiliate Programs
If you encounter this scam yourself, please leave a comment here or after the article and share what it looks like. More information and communication is essential in a situation like this.

constanceMemberAt Victor Chandler’s we have been approached by both Alyssa Jardine and Matt Reese, Alyssa was insisting on a CPA only deal and Matt wanted upfront payment of about $8000 for 70 “guaranteed” players. Both were looking for cash upfront or near to instant payments, as Alyssa mentioned in her email the large number of players they would be able to refer to us straight away. What struck me as most strange was the invalid URL in her email signature – like mentioned in the CAP article.
We got a similar email through this morning from an Elton Sandoval from Pokerslistings, notice the extra S at the end of Poker! Similar scam to the rest, asking if we would like to feature in their new casino listings.
Luckily we have declined all the above requests from these scammers, however, it does show the need for operators to establish criterias before we agree to deals with affiliates, if they are not there then scams like the above will only make things harder for genuine affiliates to negotiate deals.
