I received the wire today, and the amount was exactly what they said I would receive. Thanks, BCP!

Aksana, my payment was in USD. Perhaps when converting from USD to Euros, the bank takes a portion of the money as a fee, or perhaps they use an incorrect conversion rate.

A similar thing happens to me when I receive wire payments from a certain WagerWorks-powered casino based in the UK. They initiate the wire in GBP, and they pay all wire fees. However, when I receive the payment in my U.S. account, the amount received is roughly $50 less than it should be.

Example — say I am owed exactly £750. If you go to Google and type in “convert 750 GBP to USD,” it shows that £750.00 = $1,468.95. But when the wire hits my account, I only get around $1,415. I have no idea where the money went.

My bank shows all incoming wire fees on the statement, and this missing $53 is not accounted for anywhere. Perhaps the bank deliberately uses an outdated conversion rate that gives them a financial advantage. Or maybe there is an intermediate bank that converts the wire to USD and takes a fee, and I never know about it.

Anyway, good luck figuring it out!

FYI – a bank usually charges between 2-5 cents on each dollar for exchanges.

I’m in Canada they send my payments in GBP and the bank converts it – now that and Canadian Dollar is close to the US dollar I usually get less then the payment I would get because of the double dip the bank takes

Thanks — I didn’t know that. That seems high.

It would be nice if programs took this into account when wiring payments to affiliates in different currencies. :wink-wink

    Good point.

ASP works very well. I received payment into my ASP account a while ago from Bodog. I have been able to get the money out of ASP also — it really does work.

It would be great if more programs would use ASP. Especially those that only pay by wire or check. I don’t know how many checks I’ve had rejected in the last year… way too many, that’s for sure. And with wires, I’m getting fed up with the fees. I lost probably close to $1,000 in 2007 thanks to all of the wire fees and bounced check fees. Not cool.

I know about converting rates, it’s not a problem, several months ago I asked BCP to pay me in USD. And from my last commissions $48 was taken by the intermediate bank in USA, BCP paid $51 their own fees, so this means banks took $100 fees that to send $500.

But I found solution, I didn’t know that the wire transfer from BCP is processed through USA banks, and therefore I gave BCP details of my correspondent bank in USA. I hope this help.

But I should say a big thanks to Lisa :hattip:, she manages all payments in BCP. All time she was so responsable and helpful, she replied to me several times a day, she also tried to understand why I received commissions not fully. I was very angry because this situation has been repeating with me since spring,2007.
But she was always so patient and helpful. Of course, her fault that she always forget to include carry overs, but I hope she won’t forget this next time.
