InactiveReading that article he might be right. But not only do the Online Casinos have mailing lists. Perhaps if a thread strated with listing just the numbers of our sibscribers that will recieve similar announcements might help with making some polititians think twice …

InactiveWriting to Senators will do no good. It’s my opinion they are doing it out of spite. The Religious Right knows for the most part they are going to be voted out in Nov regardless. They dont give a rats ass what they do between now and then. The more damage and more pissed off voters the better. The 109th has been known as the “Do Nothing Congress”. Now in the last 2 weeks they are trying to pass as much BS as possible to “get back” at the voters what they are going to do to them in Nov. My opinion Congress should have been shut down two weeks ago for the rest of the year. This keeps them from doing what they are.

InactiveIt may pass the Senate, but it also has to pass the House, and then a Conference Committee has to send the exact same bill back to both houses, where it has to pass them again. Lots of stuff can get chopped off anywhere in there.
Not done yet. Stay tuned.

InactiveThe U.S has managed to stop online gambling operators from setting up camp within the U.s boarders. However preventing people from accessing online gambling from the privacy of their own homes is quite a different matter.
A little pesky problem for the U.S no one owns the internet nor governs it. The Constitution guarantees free speech and the Bill of Rights guarantees the right to privacy and fredoom of association.
A person sitting in the privacy of their own home and accessing a online casino is merely exercising these rights. Any attempt to ban online gambling for U.S citizens means ammending the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Both are very unlilkey this is why the current events will fail.
Since when does the U.S Government decide what we can access over the internet anyway? Online gambling is here to stay!

InactiveDon’t forget that each and every one of these senators, their family, friends and everyone else they know will be receiving the same Playtech spam that we receive.
No wonder they think our entire industry is dodgy as hell.

InactiveI think its ludicrous that they can attach some BS to a totally unrelated bill and get things done that way. Of course I know thats how these idiots get things done and that theyve been doing it for years; but it doesnt change the fact that its a crock of whoooeeee. I truly think the practice is crooked as it gets!

As far as I know, Frist is still working on it, right? It hasn’t actually been attached. If anyone gets any info about the specifics, though, that would be great for us to know. The reuters story that broke a couple of days ago said:
“Frist is pushing for an approach that isn’t quite as sweeping as the House measure, said the leadership aide and lobbyists following the issue.”
I’d be curious why it wasn’t as “sweeping” and if that will benefit us.

You can sit at home and play all the free games/casinos you want, you just can’t transfer money electronically, ie… via over a wire.
What the Congress should do is legalize/regulate it, so it’s subject to the protections of US laws.

Is all that drug pusher spam I’m getting from these buttheads?
Now that’s what the US Congress should stop, the drug dealers. Unless it’s a legit online pharmacy from Canada offer the Seniors a lower cost alternative.

InactiveWell, there are a ways to make a deposits without using credit cards :lookaroun , so I think no matter what they do – I’ll be still playing … at least as much as I want to …
Unfortunately our “representatives” are not the brightest bunch, just those that have the biggest pocket or someone with big pockets pushing them, and that is how we end up with idiocy substituting the law…

InactiveI still use my card to gamble online, w/o any problems. Banks make a lot of money on these transactions, and money talks. They have already written letters against this measure, saying it’s not their job to “police” the internet. That if congress wants to do this, they need to create an agency to oversee the transactions and websites themselves.
Just imagine the “small government” Republicans creating another agency!! Spending taxpayers’ money for this. How could that happen? :kissass:
And remember all this has to be done before the recess for elections. All the house did last week was to pass a bill to ban killing horses for food to sell overseas.:huh2:

Also, the ban will likely be on banks preventing transfers to agencies known for use solely for online gambling, not just for credit cards to casinos.
However, the words of the attachment have not been released so everything is speculation until Monday or Teusday.
