InactiveHey Captain I believe the content thief has been shut down. I am showing a DNS, but keep tabs on this person in the meantime. The Google’s cache is still viewable, but I think the person is making changes.

InactiveIn addition this was a targetted screen scrape. Much easier to do than a bot scrape. Relax and have a great time in Vegas which I am sure you will. greek39/ :guitar:

Inactive… lil trick to make finding thieves easy is have a oddball link on your pages that goes to a page somewhere so you can see if it gets any hits from anywhere else but your site…
I am going through the same thing right now (see post .. Is there a good attorney)
I had thought of doing something like you are suggesting, but was not sure of the best way to do this without the thief discovering the link right away and removing it ? Maybe a hidden pixel ?
Although some thieves are incredibly STUPID! In my case, the Bimbo didn’t even bother to change out all of the affiliate links before uploading the site .. DUH ?

If their domain is new, they won’t get any rankings any time soon, so don’t worry on that….Evidently this is not the case .. my site has been online for two and a half years .. the person who hijacked my site and who now has an identical copy is definitely listed in Google!
How do I contact Google’s Legal Department and get the site removed?
I went in and entered Google Legal Department, but all I got were links to apply to work in their legal department. :tooconfus

InactiveThe asshole has had his copied site taken down. Yesterday I contacted the web host support and they took action. Lasvegaslady you need to find out where this site that has copied yours is hosted. Contact them by phone and e-mail explain that your site has been copied. That is all you need to do.

InactiveI can’t even count how many times I have posted in the last few weeks about these dickheads.
It is so aggravating and time consuming. If I ever get to meet one of these face to face….. :cuss:

I agree it would be great to meet up with these dickheads.
On another note I wish you would have come to Vegas my good friend. Hope to see you in the near future.

InactiveHi Greek –
Can you educate me on this jerk – I get over 50 e mails a day from this idiot.
and believe it or not, it gets rid of my google toolbar everytime I open it. He also disguises somehow the sender e mail except this time. This is what he always sends –Return-Path:

InactiveNot conclusive but if these emails are affecting your browser I would suspect malware. Malware or a virus are in my opinion the same. I have had this happen to me once a couple of months ago. I will do some tracking on this and have some results tommorow for ya. In the meantime I would run some good spyware programs. Mine are all beefed out and stretched out, but I would suggest the folowing:
Ad-aware Se personal
Xoftspy
Spybot search and destroy
Hi-jack this 1.8You can never have too many spyware programs, the more the better. Will get back to you on who this may be. greek39
Congrats Captain for getting the situation resolved!
