    Oh Boy

Seems we are going to have to become a lot smarter to crack the search engines.

I’ve noticed that it’s become almost impossible to get a site into DMOZ, a guarantee for Google that they won’t be adding new gambling related sites to their Directory.

I’ve noticed a significant drop in traffic from referring search engines over the past 5 to 6 weeks – concerning.

Not even allowing gambling sites in the directory?

That is a big concern…..Paid ads is one thing, not being listed is a whole new can of worms.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no ban on gambling sites in the Open Directory.

I don’t want to tempt fate but banning us on hand picked directories like the DMOZ must surely be the very last line before total censorship of gambling.

You would think that search engines would have some kind of algorithm to at least accept listings from trusted sites such as the DMOZ. Casinos Compared recently got a listing on the DMOZ and now I’m in Yahoo’s index.

(Though I’m unsure if the cached pages are before or after I got the listing).

I never paid to be in ASK’s index anyway, does it bring much traffic?
