InactiveYou know how you visit a site and a popup to download apears… that counts as a download even if you do not download so maybe everytime a visitor is browsing the site an anoying popup is popping up…
that was one thought…

InactiveI’m getting the same thing with one affiliate program. Been getting the same stats problem for a couple of months with no signups.

InactiveTHe other thing it could be is a determined player woh is getting failed downloads and is retrying … (so 1 “click” means and average of 6 download attempts?).
Or else a Google bot has visited their site via you link and has followed all of the “download now” links. You know how spiders foloow every path.
I suspect that it’s the latter option – and you’ve simply got a trapped bot.

Here are stats from one of my campaigns
9 clicks
53 downloads
0 player
0 deposits. This is a media company so they send me a text file so i have no real proof of traffic etc but 9 clicks and 53 downloads?is it technically possible for somebody to download without clicking?lol
I think they are screwing with us big time as same casino /same position but different media buyer got xx players a month from usThese are some good replies/answers, but can see how you would be leary, I had a media company that I worked for and had unusually odd stats that did not generate what I consider average results and I still think that they ripped me off to this day, but have no proof.

InactiveI forget which program it was now, but recently I saw that and just wrote it off that maybe my clicks weren’t tracking and just the downloads were on a certain link. I get that a lot with impressions vs. clicks and/or downloads too. But that’s easier explained.

biggygMemberthis is a clean url to the casino ,not a download link .In any case these stats were may 8 ,i got the new stats yesterday up to june 7 and there are LESS downloads showing so i have caught this media company or the casino in some funny business.the casino in question is cap verified with known payment issues which was why i dealt with the media company as they pay upfront. It was not a big amount of money but in principle cant see why they would screw stats unless they planned it to be a one time deal. Now my dilemma is would you return the money knowing there is fraud in their stats?we are talking low XXXX in dollar value .I dealt with another media company last year with same casino and they paid upfront and they got 3 months worth of players in about 1 month and renewed again 4x with me.i took them off for 6 months before being approached by a ‘new’media company so based on previous dealings i decided to try them soo they prepaid for 10 players. I agreed to 75% refund if they didnt have players in 3 months .within days they were asking for TOP banner -roll over and laugh with me – pay for middle page then want top spot next week. Then they wanted me to add them on 3 more sites they knew i owned ,then after 3 weeks they asked for money back. Then she said no keep money but instead can you promote casino #3 which is also a cap memeber and who i deal with .I told them no i cant as i make $xx,xxx a month rev share with that group .This girl was total dumbell as she tried to tell me to take my aff tags off and go cpa with her so we will both make more money.
The time expiry was august 8 so on august 4 i sent a player to my link and had them depsoit $150 and play it out ,they lost it and two days ago i asked them for the last tracking report as the links are still live. She replied that they cancelled the deal more than a month ago and stopped tracking them so cant give me any updates. This casino takes us players and the banners below them get on average 8-15 new players a month so even with rotten luck they should have gotten at least one.
I have enough proof to satisfy myself they are dishonest and cant imagine it is impossible to pull stats on tracking links but they refuse to give them to me now.
I did put in i/o that i will refund 75% of the money but i really feel that for sure they should have gotten the ten players just based on what others have done.so im going to base my decision on the refund based on what you guys would do.
I will not name the company in public but if any of u have that deja vu feeling contact me and ill tell you who it is.August 9, 2008 at 7:55 pm #775168Anonymous
InactiveThat is interesting and does sound somewhat familure so I’m gonna PM you just to see if we dealt with the same company.
My issue was that they keep having me change links as well as changing my POC (point of contact) person. I informed the casino company of my feelings, but nothing came of it, but it really enlightened me on working with media companies. If I do it again, then it will only be done on a pre-paid basis.
BTW I never agree to refund money, but I will keep the banner placement live until the terms are met. If they don’t go for that then they are not on the up and up IMO.
