InactiveI can only say that I don’t feel comfortable with them, and recently expressed that in detail to them by email. I don’t give them much time or exposure because I don’t feel comfortable enough that things are as they should be. I understand that in life, things aren’t perfect and mistakes, bugs, flukes happen. But they’re smart, they make sure they don’t give us enough information in the stat area to catch things ourselves really. Unlike some other programs. I can only speculate that things don’t seem right, and there’s nothing then I can do to correct anything if I can’t specifically show a problem without doubt.
Not long ago, I had a discrepency with my stats at another MGS group, but was able to point it out without question, so they cut me a separate check, twice actually. I can’t do that with Referback’s info, there’s not enough there.
Recently when I expressed my concerns to them and asked for more data for the past 6 months, because I didn’t feel comfortable with their accuracy after their recent double payment and then asking for the first one back 4 days later… after agreeing with me, and a month of waiting, all I got was the same information I can see myself, and a $48 payment to Neteller. I wasn’t pleased. The $48 payment was something they said they found from about 6 months prior, that they didn’t know why was that way but I wasn’t paid for. Now I really wonder. Not only did they just goof up sending me 2 payments last month, two different amounts, 3 days apart, then ask for the first one back 4 days after.. but they themselves said there was this $48 or something.. hanging around unpaid I guess from 6 months ago? And all they give me is the promise that I CAN trust them and everything is right.
Hmmm.. if everything is RIGHT, then I sure would appreciate enough clear detailed stat information to be able to see when it’s not right. Like what caused the exta mistaken payment I had to return. And how come the payment 6 that was short $48 I guess, was short and hanging around. I guess I could have spotted that one in going back month by month in the archive area compared to my payments. But I couldn’t find my payment report information for recent months until I questioned the last 6 months. Maybe I just missed it in archives. I thought I had looked there, maybe not. Had I not questioned them at all, I wouldn’t have gotten the $48 though, and though it’s not the amount, it is the point. I normally do always check that I’m paid the same amount a program report says I should be. Of course, this is probably what I get for trying NOT to be a pain in the a## back then when I might have just been confused.
I’ve experienced so many technical difficulties in playing at Belle Rock myself and claiming promos, as well as a few other things.. more than any other casino group from my experience. And unfortunately it’s hard for me to have that faith because of it.
I’m not saying they are dishonest intentionally, but I do think they are at the top of my list for technical goof-ups.
I can’t say for sure anything is wrong. But my gut feeling is that something is wrong.

InactiveI also have questions with accuracy here. Last monthI was asked for a payment back, however I was owed an equilant amount from old stats. I replied sich, and have yet to hear an answer, like wise to when I questioned the payment amount in the month it happened. I did orginally receive a reply saying it would be checked into, and then nothing more. When I received the amount last month, I figured….ok…..until I got the note asking for it back….lol

InactiveStats have been frozen for days here and of course some of the big players we had last month just so happen to “go away”!
We have been shown by the audit reports from Integrity what they are doing over there and that is cheat affiliates as much as they can!:Pisser:

InactiveYep, there was a problem with double payments – I had them too. S#!t happens.
Daera, what stats components are missing? While there is some looking at different items involved, I seem to find all the essentials.
Re. visits from links that don’t exist aymore: I actually had two payments lately from a place I removed from all my pages 4 years ago. How can that be? Are players using cached pages? Maybe it’s a returnng player from way back when. How come it seems that once one promotes a property one can never quite turn off the traffic? I did have one hit on Orbital this month too.
Actually I am pleased the stats still show these discontinued casinos, I still have players at Home etc. Some programs would just delete these entries and you’d be none the wiser.

InactiveThanks for everyones comments.
I sent them an e mail a while back asking them if my loyal whales are still playing and if not, when they stopped, but I never heard back from them.
Last summer, one of the whales hit a big payout which put me about 6k in the negative bracket. I was wondering if he hit a jackpot. If he had, at least I would get 5k for it. They contacted me back and was able to tell me what he won it on, so I know they’re able to give me the information.
I realize there are alot of scenarios – they decided enough was enough and didn’t want to spend any more money……and so on. But worst case is they are still playing and somehow not being tracked to me.
PLEASE Dom, with all the scrapers, hackers, hijackers and so forth out there, please pacify me and tell me it’s not possible for someone to redirect my link to there own, or is that a stupid question?

InactiveWhile I have heard of people redirecting your site visitors to their own, I have not heard of anyone being able to redirect an individual link.
I am not very tech though so not a good person to ask about what may or may not be technically possible.

InactiveI was told once that if say Joe Smith visited your site months ago, clicked your banner BUT never downloaded the casino and then about 3 or so months go by he decides to try the casino and downloads from where it does not matter if he has not cleared his cookies it will still track back to your banner he first viewed? Not saying this is so but I have been told this is the case.

InactiveThat’s why it would be really nice to know how these casinos handle their cookies. Some may expire after a certain length of time, others may never expire. Some will hold even if a player hits another affiliate’s link after yours, etc., etc.
I wish they would all have an area that explains how they are set up so we can know what to expect.

InactiveThis varies widely from program to program.
Most expire after a certain time, or are overwriteable.

InactiveI don’t know how I would do it since I’ve been an affiliate from the get go – but I believe a higher percentage of visitors go to these casinos from some sort of affiliate site and if someone clicks on Lucky Nugget from my site and decides they like Doms site better and clicks on her Lucky Nugget link, then Dom should get the tracking because this visitor will remain loyal to Dom, especially if they win.
If they lose they may just figure bad luck and try another casino from Doms site
If someone can redirect a tracking code to their own, then I think we all would be experiencing problems with all of our affiliate programs, so I wouldn’t think it’s possible.I personally liked the way Referback did the stats pre Carmen Media. Maybe that’s because I made alot of $$ then.
I don’t know how many of you are aware but my son who live in CO joined the Gaming club around Thanksgiving time and he deposited $50 and played it all on a progressive slot and lost it and the bonus. I thought I would get commission off the $50 he lost but instead my commission was at a negative as well. When I contacted Referback I was told since different sites (MG software)has the same progressive slots, then a fee is taken out, that is how the progressives become progressive – something to that effect, I can’t remember exactly how it was worded.
I told my son not to play the progressives next time.

InactiveI think I just answered my own statement. If I remember correctly, these progressive are pooled from the micro gaming sites – a small percentage of profits, and we as affiliates, I would gather, are a part of those profits.
Does anyone know exactly how that works?
May 30, 2006 at 3:31 am #693641Anonymous
InactiveI had someone hit a large progressive, and it didn’t count as a negative for that same reason. Microgaming pays off the progressive, not the individual casino.

InactiveIt will all be out in the open one day. They will not be able to get by with it forever.

InactiveI’m on Mac OSX – can’t even log into stats – ReferBack affiliate account management / stat area is completely incompatible with every OSX browser.
