InactiveGod, I have been waiting for this PR update for months now.
Everytime I visit one of my sites, the google toolbar keeps mocking me with my zero rating.
A search engine optimization company put out this, speculating it will be on Jul 21:

I really, really hope PR gets updated soon…

InactiveIf the 3 month theory is accurate then its about 5 days overdue

InactiveMy serious opinion is that you should uninstall the google toolbar. I haven’t checked my pr in over 6 months. PR has no relationship with good search engine rankings. When i did check pr, there would be sites with pr3s ranking higher than pr6 sites. Remove the toolbar and focus on seo.

Yet, when deciding on link partners I still find myself looking at PR. I have linked to some sites that just look promising to me, but since I link to very few select sites I always find myself giving lots of weight to PR.
As far as SERPS go, PR has nothing to do with it and is useless.

InactiveI have gotten SOOOO many e-mails denying links to my newer sites because the PR is 0 …not updated since last update.
Really frustrating….
Yet with Poker to the Max…PR4 they come to me!

InactivePage Rank is an important factor in assessing whether I exchange links. However if a site is promising, is cached in google and has quality backlinks but no PR yet, I will also consider those as well.

InactiveI am not an SEO genius like many people out there but I do know that I will only exchange links with Google PR that are equal or better than mine. Also one thing to be careful of guys especially when people are trying to sell you a link on one of their pages that has a ridiculously high Google PR is that there is a script/hack out there to artificially raise the Google PR bar at the top of your site.
I am always leary of people wanting to sell me a link. :shooter:

InactiveNot sure if I agree or disagree that PR isn’t factored into where you appear on Google. All I can add to this thread is that when you search on the keyword “poker”, of the first 10 sites, the lowest is a PR=5 and that’s poker.com. The rest are 6 or higher.

InactiveSites that naturally rank high have a lot of links pointing to them, and from these links there is probably at least one website with a high pr. If a pr 6 links to you, you automatically become a pr5. (90% of the time)
The pr is not the cause of the high rankings.
