InactiveI do the same thing myself.. It might even be that I would plan to come back, but am just commitment shy.. I went to walmart just yesterday (walmart.com) found exactly what I wanted, put it in my virtual shopping cart.. filled out the form…. almoooooost bought it..
Then I thought.. hmmm maybe I’ll look around a bit more.. and left.

InactiveOut of interest, how do you know they did not download? I did not think that affiliate tracking was so granular to allow to you to track whether a given surfer has downloaded or signed up?
Or do you have 0 downloads for this particular program, so you know that no-one – not even this searcher – has downloaded?

Inactive0 downloads for the first 4 days this month.

click on casinoxxx banner, and not at least download the software?
either …
(1) Tyre kickers …
(2) Webmasters looking for the latest bonus code details …
Either way – bonus code hunters don’t ever seem to convert well.

I am phoning Wal-Mart right now and reporting you, I hope they ban you from their site or maybe they will start legal action and confiscate your computer!
:flamer: :noel:BTW, I understand your point, its annoying and creates conspiracy theories when it happens to be the same affiliate.

InactiveAh ok.
Could be lots of reasons why they didn’t download. Maybe they heard about the promo, but didn’t know exactly what it involved – the searched, you came up high in the rankings so they chose your page, then they went to the page but realised it wasn’t what they wanted after all.
Or something else put them off – didn’t like the site, didn’t like something they read. Or as LadyH said, they just got distracted.
Be glad that they found your site in the first place, at least you’re ranking higher (or better) than your affiliate competitors

I have done that plenty of times.
Got distracted, minimized the window, forgot about it until closing shop
or
decided to look elsewhere too for maybe something better
or
got a phone call and postponed the whole thing because I couldn’t finish it and talk to someone at the same time
or
on second thought didn’t like the look of the site, didn’t seem trustworthy
or any number of reasons.

InactiveOk, then, there might just be a slight possibility that I am paranoid.
BTW, I was 41 on Google for the search phrase, so it looks less likely its a potential customer.

InactiveBTW, these questions are triggered by lack of profit. If the casinos in questions created profit, I would not need to scrutinize the traffic I send.
I also have a limited amount of traffic that I send to all the affiliate programs I belong to, so it is easy for me evaluate the available information. In November I sent ~1200 redirects to various casinos which is not that much by the sounds of it.
I will one day have to weed out the casinos that don’t convert, I am just not sure what criteria I need in order to evaluate the quality of one casino program over another.
Are there casino’s you have dropped due to poor conversion? or do you just leave them in one of your deep pages?December 6, 2006 at 11:04 am #718056Anonymous
InactiveThat’s very common…
I buy my domains on GoDaddy.. Before buying or renewing a domain I search for discount codes and use them.. Godaddy affiliates might be wondering about me the same way
