InactiveI’m not sure if I should/ could name people or sites. Or if I should share this with you all. But I’m compelled to help any one who post here if I have anything to offer this site.
As a Very Newbie in this biz, I jumped at this chance. It truly felt too good to be true. I sent only 5 legit players out of 6 transfers to them at a considderable cost of my precious time and a total of $350 from my ppc budget. I even dedicated 4 pages of reviews and info, and party had top banner on every page on my site. It’s not that I’m bitter, just hate to think all the hard work was wasted. When payday comes, I can’t log in to the banker. So I got a new password and still couldn’t log in. So I contacted my aff manager and below are the responses. It’s only been 1 extra month waiting to get paid so far, but I’m confident that Party will pay eventually. But in the mean time…. ” NO SOUP FOR YOU ” (sienfeld )
I have not spent one minute or dollar promoting my site since then. Planned on that $600+ as advertising budget this month. Oh well. Back in action later then I guess lol…..
Please see this series of recent E-mail from my Aff manager @ party.:grunt:Subject: “LAST CHANCE TO ACTIVATE YOUR AFFILIATE ACCOUNT”
Date: Mon, June 12, 2006 8:56 amEasy way to activate your Affiliate Account:
Have you got a real money player account at http://www.partypoker.com
<http://www.partypoker.com/> if not why don’t you sign up and sign 2 other
players to make up to $195 minus deposits?
If you do have a real money account:
All you have to do is sign up 3 real money players on CPA plan and deposit
$50 in to each of the player’s account you would make profit of $195 and you
will get paid at the beginning of July 2006!!!
P.S: Hurry this offer expires at the end of June!!
How to sign up three real money players and earn up to $195?
Step 1: Find out whether players you have signed up are on CPA plan or MGR
plan? If you still have not signed up any players sign them up on CPA Plan.
Step 2: If they are on CPA plan. Deposit $50 into the players account from
your Party Poker player account via Inter Account Transfer tool. They
will then automatically become real money players.
Step 3: We pay you $65 per player on CPA plan and on top of that we pay you $150 for signing up to three real money players as part of out World Cup Fever Bonanza. So in total you would get paid the sum of $195 at the beginning of July for just signing up three real money players.
Please note: Once you signed up a real money player your affiliate account
automatically becomes active when its active you are eligible for bigger
bonuses for the following monthsSubject: RE: account on hold

Many thanks for contacting us.
Your Affiliate Accruals for June 2006 have been added to your Affiliate
Cashier Account however, payment is currently on hold. This means that
you will not able to cash out these funds at the moment.
The reason for the hold status is that the revenues generated by your
Players are substantially below the average for our other Affiliates.
This pattern sometimes suggests that Players have been acquired in
breach of the Standard Affiliate Agreement (see
http://www.partypartners.com/legal). For example, Players are acquired as a
result of Fraud Traffic. We intend to investigate this issue.
If you can give me a convenient time and contact telephone number, I
will be happy to discuss this situation with you and look at possible
solutions.Regards

Kindly note that the reason your account is on hold is that the players
you have signed up haven’t played at all. Do you know the players? If
you do I strongly recommend you to encourage them to play. However from
my point of view they will gradually start to play as you have just
recently signed them up you will then get paid at the beginning of this
month.
You can promote our site as long as you don’t transfer the money in to
the players account as long as the player deposits money and play you
are more than welcome to promote us this way.
I am working closely with the investigation team to release your funds
as soon as possible.
RegardsP.S: any player signs up through your bonus code or link will always be
tracked to you and eventually you will get paid depending on the player
value.:banger:The statement about my players not playing is false. I personally watched 3 of 5 play. I can’t say about the other 2, but the fact is that I did exactly what my aff manager asked of me. There were no play through or raked hand requirements ever mentioned.

InactiveWhat a convoluted mess that is.
All so they can obtain new fishes at the cheapest possible price and keep all future income from them.
Stay away from CPA.

InactiveWhat you did was ok but you should’nt of received any CPA until your new players made a deposit as well so the site can at least have the opportunity break even.
I did the same with a poker site but I’m not on the CPA. I took the chance that a % of these players would convert based on how well they liked the site. I have now after 4 months broken even and the conversion players are still converting

I currently have signed up 200+ people by transfering money into their accounts, and then recieve $75 in payment back from the poker room. Thus, it is a $25 profit per player. After switching account managers, I used to recieve a monthly promotion of 500-1k, but now I am not offered that, and no increase in my CPA. My new manager told me I am making just enough $$ so that they can pay me. Isnt that good since they make $$ on the lifetime of the players? I tried to negociate deals but the manager wont do anything but tell me to stop signups. What does everyone here think? Should I be getting more for providing so many signups? How do other poker rooms pay in these situations?Understandable that they aren’t making much. But by the same token – serves them right for allowing a scheme like this.
This kind of thing makes a mockery of affiliate marketing.
How many of these will go on and convert to REAL depositors (because they are not)? Very few IMHO.
The reasons they aren’t keen to increase your business are the same reasons why so few poker rooms give a no deposit bonuses. It’s not profitable business.

Inactivemjlapoin wrote:Yeah, pretty much. By them signing up, I then transfer $50 to their account, thus it makes it a real money account. Then the poker room pays back the $75. I guess if I think about it, I’m doing pretty good, but just wondering if anyone else does the same and thinks I should be doing better.I know sometimes people get caught up on something they think is a good idea when it comes to make money. However they also dont always think of the ethics behind what they do. I hate to say this but this is one of those things that is very close to unethical.
I worked for a billboard company once and my manager was fired for this very thing and the company ultimately went under because of this. Its a long story but in the end he was getting paid more for each space that he sold for the company but was giving the customers kickback. The thing is that the company wanted a “full pay” customer.
Well I guess let me put it this way. The casino is paying you the $$ because they expect to get paid so much per player and pay you with that. The problem with you giving signups money is that they are just using $50 free no purchase required while the casino is actually giving you $75. So essentially they are paying you $75 to get them a bonus player. Does that make sense?
Edited: oops I see this was covered…
