InactiveA couple of years ago.. some guy tried to pull a Nigerian scam on me, and I pretend to go along with it.. for an entire week I played like I kept messing up my bank details to him, and we would chat on MSN when I would mess up.
I ended up asking him to send me $100 so I could pay for the Western Union Fees – he caught on pretty quickly that I was messing with him.
Turns out he was based in Malaysia.
But the amount of “hey i want to be your girlfriend” skype scams really do annoy me. Seriously people.. only if you’re awesome, and rich, and willing to pay my way, then skype me with lusty messages.

burundiMemberOhhh Rak! What did you do? I bet her father was the king of Nigeria, unjustly overthrown and I bet you could have made 20% of US$55,000,000 (safe in a box at the bank, waiting to be claimes), and I bet you could have invested the rest for them. You would just have needed to fly down there and not get kidnapped and extorted

whoops 2 mins late

abbykungMemberLOL I had a girl try the same thing on me once. I met her from an online dating site, and she had a really nice profile. She was so pretty and seemed like a nice girl, and I was so happy she was interested in me. I didn’t suspect anything out of the ordinary, it was a regular online dating website, rsvp.com.au
I had no idea it was a scam until she asked me for a webcam chat. She then gave me the address of an adult website, and told me she uses that site for webcam chats  That was the last conversation we ever had haha

Ahh yess.. RSVP!
There was a recent scam with a fake dating site (the entire site was a scam). They hired backpackers to be photographed and create fake profiles to reel the guys in. To communicate with the girls, they were chargd $5 a message.
It got so full on, that some of the guys had paid for gifts, hotels, flight and holidays to meet their matches who never turned up.
The ended up getting caught and got fined around 25million.
