Like Pagerank the only ones who really look and value these things are mainly webmasters, most “players” out there wouldnt know or care about these factors in 99% of the time.
Alexa can be manipulated easily by simply installing the toolbar and working on your pages every day as well lol. That is of course if you antivirus doesnt have a fit each time you instal it.

Yer but, alexa is sort of well known though, alexa ranking ( i’ve just started advertising my alexa page ranking on my site for each country)
I mean before i was into this wasn’t an affiliate marketer i still new what alexa was.
I’ve put it on my pages i’ll see if it makes a difference or not
I don’t think any players check Alexa or PR ever, webmasters/operators check these if they were going to purchase a site or pay for advertising and even then these things are taken with a pinch of salt as like allfreechips said alexa results can be manipulated

But we are seeing it from webmasters point of view, I know before I started looking up SEO and getting into affiliate marketing I new one thing Alexa was important.
Alexa does advertise it as a good site and it rung true to me even before i new any of the other stuff.
if we think about general user and not our own thoughts they might just check up on it.
I just uploaded started advertising my alexa rank per country i’ll see how it goes via conversions every bit helps
