Too funny!
I predict this auction has a high chance of being shut down by eBay before it ends, since they enforce their rules in particular regarding payments – note at the end of the auction description it says:
Although it offers payment by paypal please don’t use it – Following the end of the auction we will issue you with details of how to pay so the money goes direct to GamCare
I’ve seen similar ‘charity auctions’ get shut down for bypassing ‘correct’ eBay/PayPal procedures, you need to organize this type of thing with eBay directly before starting the auction. It’s not like there’s some friendly manager at eBay saying to themselves “Oh it’s for charity, I’ll let it slide…” They’re not really known for that.
Its ok Jam – All cleared with eBay – We will still pay fees I just don’t want the money going into my personal bank account as will cause all sorts of problems and hassles….. I did have to call them though to increase the amount we could sell stuff for and switched it to a business account…. I would have used their vharity contribution method but the company they use takes a big cut from the charity so seemed stupid and iGB will pay the fees incurred

The winner of the auction will have the opportunity to have Michael Caselli and Alex Pratt wear their brand throughout the event, including the networking events and the iGB Affiliate Awards.
“This is a huge opportunity for an operator or affiliate to get maximum awareness at the biggest iGaming affiliate event in the world, where we expect over 3,000 attendees. Not only will the winner get huge amounts of awareness at the event but they will also be seen before and after the event through the marketing, PR and hype around this activity,” commented Alex Pratt, Head of iGaming Business. “We have only announced it on Facebook and already the eBay page has 12 bids and 1,000 page views. We fully expect this to gain some big momentum over the next 7 days,” continued Pratt.
All monies raised by the auction will be going to GamCare’s education programme and in particular to promoting their recently launched website BigDeal – Home. This new site is targeted at young people aged 12-18 to educate young people about the risks of problem gambling and to support those experiencing difficulty through their own gambling or that of family members (usually parents).
“BigDeal is a fantastic resource for young people and teachers. Our challenge now is to make sure that as many young people get to hear about it and take a look at the site. Marketing and promoting BigDeal is therefore a key element going forward and GamCare are keen to develop the marketing plans for the BigDeal website,” commented Ruth Halahmy, Marketing and Fundraising Officer from GamCare.
