InactiveIMO the programs are ill advised not to show.
For one thing, they need to listen to and ask questions of Chris Rusch urgently! To not show up for something that can clarify a lot of things regarding payment solutions is downright – well – I am not going to say the word that comes to mind.
Secondly, the caliber of affiliates that attend this event is the caliber that has reach and can successfully enter new markets. If you miss the opportunity to collaborate on this you are throwing away good business. This is the time to secure your positions.
And thirdly, affiliates remember things for years to come. And I am willing to bet you that the US market will recover, more and more things are pointing to that. IGUEA is an ill conceived law, enforcement will slack off. Read about what happens behind the scenes like here: http://www.point-spreads.com/content/view/1665/2/ . Whether it is repealed or not (and there is increasing hope every day that it will) is not the issue if it is not enforced.
Last not least, I want to see all my friends there, and that includes my affiliate manager friends. At this venue there is time to really talk and bond and devise plans for the future. It is what sets spring break apart from all other conferences, an unharried environment to network and plan for the future. If you are not there, one can’t talk with you. Many major affiliates did not make it to London and are not going to Amsterdam. But they always show up for spring break.
Those are some very good reasons to go to Atlantis, and I haven’t talked about the half of them yet.
That said, I will be happy to step up to the plate and partially sponsor one of the dinners.

Oh geez, there goes your new living room furniture! In all seriousness, I think Dom’s offer is awesome; it says a lot about her belief that the US will recover and her willingness to invest in our industry’s future. I’d love to see a list of affiliates taking this negative position though. It may not be prudent from CAP’s point of view to make these affiliates known (if that isn’t a problem, fire away Prof!), however they will be conspicuous in their absence and word will get out anyway. If my passport doesn’t get processed in time I won’t be there but I along with the others unable to attend are counting on those that do to make observations and ask the obvious questions… Where is ___ ?? Affiliates that used to be there in force but this time aren’t present or have just one unregistered rep there… ask them. It’s ok if it makes them uncomfortable. And think long and hard about making time to meet with a rep whose company doesn’t have time or interest in the US market. Make sure to fill in all your friends here at CAP when you get back too…

Guestcounting on their support?
it should be the other way around.
aff programs that think they can survive in fine fashion without the support of their affs are the ones who will see the day where they suddenly look around and notice those that supported affs . are so far ahead of them that SHOULD the countries they’ve chosen to target …. therefore my meaning that they have given up on NA based players ….. have fallen so far behind the fold that they can never hope to catch up.
while i am stuck where i am due to legal issues for the next 16 months .. make no mistake . …. those programs that fail to recognize the full impact on this industry via casino portal owners ….. are doomed to increasingly loose out on the big money.
I apologize if I’ve offended anyone but I felt this needs to be made a priority of acknowledgement.
The reason casino portal operators are so important ….. well let my recent letter speak in much easier to understand terms than could i
Steve, I don’t believe it; we received the check from xxxxxxx processor today and it’s drawn on a citibank (NY I think) and we are besides ourselves (wife’s b-day this weekend). Unfortunately, it still has to be cashed and not refused by the payor bank this time. I’ve learned to wait to celebrate until the money (or cash in this case) is in the bank. You bet I will let you know when it clears. We would also like to send you a little gift if (and when) it does clear.
David
understand this person has not only put his and wife’s faith in my making sure they got paid … but despite knowing i make money on their play …. and trust me they do … they offer a gift because they know the lengths I have went to ….. to make this happen.
there is NO amount of money that can buy this kind of advertisement or loyalty. NONE. period.
so those programs that want to ignore their most important connection to the people they serve …. time will come when you will reap your harvest.
WE ARE IMPORTANT! WE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.
Go ahead. Be stupid …… don’t make an effort and see where you are in 2 years.
again I apologize if I’ve offended anybody but i take it quite offensively myself when I am not given the due I deserve … when I work SO DAMN HARD to keep the reputation of a program in high standing ….. only to be ignored in such fashion. (please note this does not apply to progams which are not deserving of this rant)
*before I go … I’d like to thank those competitors who have taken time to try and help me . …. and though its going to be a long process … please know your kind efforts to help me have not been in vain. ….. that i am following up on advice and opportunities given ….. (terms of SEO advice.. special thanks to CBguy and Elgoog.
