InactiveGreat idea, Jon-Jon
Save the Children is a useful organization – you might want to mark it especially for tsunami relief efforts, though. Casinomeister and I chose UNICEF for our ad space auction – was also useful because they accept donations by PayPal!January 10, 2005 at 4:17 pm #659943Anonymous
GuestBrian from BigB has risen to the challenge – thanks Brian. He is also donating $1 for all new accounts brought in! :colgate:

InactiveI posted in the other Tsunmai thread and no one’s replied, I need to know where I can get a banner for donations on my site, also curious if the International Red Cross is the way to go, we’re doing a $1 donation match per entry poker tourney and I’m figuring to use the IRC…….is this a good one that will give to the Tsunami victims?

GuestI’ve been through a banner or two, I decided against the bravenet banner, because their java script did not open a new window, and brought the visitors to their site (where a list of relief organizations were – but still!).
Ta heck with that.
Goldenpalace casino has made a donation to acquire the url http://www.tsanamirelief.com , and I am linking to that.
it’s simply a website with links to severl relief organizations. I’m using a text link, but they do have banners for it, also.

GuestHey Mr. Noise,
Maybe, but this is a personal contribution – nothing to do with any company at all. I am taking this from my pocket, and using the new accounts as a guideline. This can run into high numbers so I am a bit worried, but only you chaps can make me cough up big cash

Why not join in?

On another note $1 per new account is a good plan – what ever you can afford its all going to help. No need to criticize charitable individuals no matter the quantity its all quality!

GuestEdited: Thread getting off the topic.
I think Jon Jon’s offer shows a lot of character, and a dollar a player is a brave offer.
Reminds me of the time a student came to my door looking for a pledge, a fundraising scheme for the school band. The pledge requested was a sum of money per book read over the weekend (the students would be in a group at the school, supervised – so there would be no cheating). The trick was to figure out how many books this student was going to read over the weekend, and calculate how much to donate per book. Well, I grossly underestimated his eventual reading velocity and ended up donating about 10 times what I intended!

But 100 hours of dancing with 5 minute breaks is extremely tough…
I think Jon Jon’s gesture is very nice, and as pointed out elsewhere it is coming out of his pocket, not the casino’s.
