It’s the middle of an avalanche, not the tip of the iceberg anymore.

I posted two more of these just today.

I am going to start posting them all.

    Hi
I wanted to post to put across the changes, and the way in which we see this actively changing the way we work towards both small and large partners alike, and in a positive way. Relating to the terms:

Regarding dormant players (no depositing activity in 12 consecutive months) This relates to a player that has not been active for 12 consecutive months, even though we will have tried frequently to re active the client. We are very active on getting campaign and specific re activation bonuses out to players that fall inactive, with the period that we start trying to re activate a player being much less.

We know from data that a player that we have not been able to re activate after a period of 12 consecutive non depositing months is one that we will not see back, on that player account anyway. The release of players means that if they do re register they can register using the same email, and will then be tagged to the affiliate partner bringing them in, this means more players available to be brought in by new campaigns or activities, either by a partner of any size or directly.

Relating to the less than 5 NDC in 3 consecutive months. This is relating more to the fact that we positively want to identify and work with partners who fall into this area, which we will be actively doing more of now.

Within AL we want more active partners, and we don’t want them to remain as small partners if we can help them, we want to increase the communication and help grow their business, its a relationship that relies on partners attracting traffic, and the brand or product ensuring that where you deliver it to converts the traffic well, and within Betsson’s brands, we have teams that are only focused on increasing and working on ways to promote player conversions.

The information above was also posted on the GPWA site. Should you have further questions regarding the terms changes please contact me.

    Regards
    Stuart

That means that Affiliate Lounge do terminate each players account after 12 depositing inactivity and delete their emails from your mailing lists? I guess you did not.

Why players need to RE-register if they already have a account!?

    Dominique say it very excellently:

Obviously they will then court him to come back since they don’t have to pay comissions anymore.

Stuart, do not forget in future, your mailing lists of your players just stops increasing, because webmasters will react. sly.gif

And the motivation for me is the same, will stop promoting Affiliate Lounge and focus on better choices.

That doesn’t make sense, why bother with the rule if they aren’t coming back? What do you have to gain other than alienating your publishers?

And you have a quota too? That’s even worse!

Relating to the less than 5 NDC in 3 consecutive months

    And here you say:

and we don’t want them to remain as small partners if we can help them, we want to increase the communication and help grow their business

Kicking them out and withholding the money they need so badly to continue growth isn’t exactly helping anyone but yourself.

    hello all,

Haven’t been around for ages but picked up on this thread. I’m not 100% sure about the smallest T&C’s here but from my personal experience with Stuart and the rest of the AL people I can honestly say I dont believe there is any chance they will screw us over.

We have been working with AL for 5-6 years now without ever having any problems, and believe me we send them serious volume with serious net rev. I believe Stu and the Affiliate Director (new one coming up) will fix this situation and offer some kind of terms change that would be agreed on both sides.

I’m sure they have no intention of pushing out high producing affiliates. This seems more like a change to cut out the smaller affiliates who might only send a few players a year. Honestly it sounds like they just don’t want to do whatever extra work is required to track dormant players, or maybe they want to clear out their database, whatever it is, it still isn’t fair to the affiliate that originally sent them.

If you promise lifetime revenue from a player, then it should over the entire life of that player account, not we will continue to pay as long as this or that condition is met.

Does Affiliate Lounge pay their affiliates for active players on time and as agreed?
If so they may still be worth promoting. Losing a player that will probably never deposit again isn’t going to affect the bottom line.
They have a high commission percentage and seem to be the only brand that pays affiliates for their Trader.

They also have a new predatory condition that requires you to send 5 new players within a 3 month period or they can close your account.

6.4. AL reserves the right to terminate this Agreement by a notice in writing (an email being sufficient) if the Referral Company does not actively promote the Participating Sites. Not actively promoting the Participating Sites shall be deemed a material breach of this Agreement. For the avoidance of doubt, the Referral Company shall be deemed to be ‘not actively promoting’ the Participating Sites if the Referral Company fails to get at least 5 new Referred Players within in any three consecutive months’ period.

Unless they change their terms, you should avoid this program. There are a ton of reputable programs out there that haven’t gone rogue.

Blackstone, it’s not only about the clause itself.

There are hundreds of affiliates who signed up with them under a certain contract, and they breached contract.

That means that their handshakes and contractrs and agreements are worth nothing, they will do what they want – retoactively change what they agreed to.

That’s like my offering you a TV for $100, you send the money, and I write back I changed my mind, it now costs $200.

That is of course illegal. Breach of contract makes a program untrustworthy.

We have past examples in this industry where programs just stopped playing for the players they got, period.

When you deal with people who don’t honor their word, be prepared to lose all players at any time.

With so many honest programs around, why promote one you can’t trust?

So you think it’s fair that if I have a 3 months vacation or something like that, you can just terminate my account??

I would NEVER have expected this king of rogue behavior from Affiliate Lounge…

Avoid this program, simple as that,

I know that for some affiliates will be a tough decision to drop them but if affiliate programs continue to keep such changes by the end there’s no gain.

If they break a rule today, next year they will make another change and that can harm even those who are making a good income with them.

This is a high competitive niche and We need to support each other (affiliates and affiliate programs) because there’s no one to care about us.

And I was thinking about promoting these guys too… Definitely won’t now.

I don’t see the point of the clause. Is the excuse really to allow players to sign up again with the same email address? Why not just tell them they already have an account and email them the password? Seems easier for everyone…

I have often had player accounts sitting unused for more than 12 months then gone back and deposited. It’s not really that long… Just this week I went back to Party Poker after nearly 2 years and used the same account.

We have to stand up to this sort of nonsense or every program will do it.

I haven’t had time to do this myself, yet.

But I think for a start we should also contact amongst others NetEntertainment and perhaps Swedish medias etc. The mother company is listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange.

Maybe it could be an interesting news story that they cheat their partners/affiliates? I think shareholders can easily see that this is a very short seighted strategy.

    Maybe you have other ideas?

AndI was just started to get on a roll with these guys… Casinoeuro.com converts well but for me the lifetime of a player actually also means the lifetime of a player.. Any good alternatives for NetEnt based affiliate programs?

Same here. I often go back and use accounts which were untouched for a long long time. AL are simply taking advantage of affiliates, that’s all!
