InactiveThe vast majority of surfers neither know nor care what the little numbers mean.

InactiveI would agree. The average web surfer doesn’t understand the nuts and bolts of the web well enough to care that the codes mean anything.
One thought; it could actually work in your favor to show the affiliate code (as part of the viewable link). For example, you might be talking about a specific deposit bonus for a site and then the user sees the link with the code placed in it. They might think that code is specific to getting the bonus you are talking about, not realizing they could just type in the URL of the site and get the same thing.

InactiveAre there any repercussions in hiding the link when it comes to SEO? I ask this because in hiding the link we are using the onMouseOut and onMouseOver javascript behaviours. Does that make google and yahoo go wappy and not want to keep on indexing your site?

Inactivenot sure on the SEO question but here is the javascript code for those not familiar with it:
This has come in handy for me on certain individual promotions, for example if I’m setting up a splash page for a private league or tournament, but on any of my sites I just leave the code there. I’m pretty sure most people realize 98% of links on a gambling portal are going to be an affiliate link.
