    Hey Capsters! :)

Now I know this is a strange post comin’ from me.. but.. It’s important to me.

One of the writers (more a poker writer than a casino writer) who I’m not going to name because it sucks to be in this sorta spot, and it sucks more to have all your colleges know about it. (I won’t disclose the name if u ask me in PM, I wont tell if you hit me up later on IM (this one’s already been tried :P hehe), or no email hints, no guesses, the name is just truely not the point. ) is being evicted from their home because they couldn’t make the rent.

The gambling affiliate communities are like a home to me soooo I’ve set up a little new house, get back on ur feet, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Kickoff fund for the writer and their family.

I know this person really well, as do most of you (long time member here, longer at CAP) not a scammer, but a fairly humber, perhaps undercharging industry writer. There are kids in the home, and it’s really important to me being Thanksgiving an all to try to do something to help out.

I’m not a rich lady, so help me out here wouldya :)

I’ll see if I can’t get a hold of a picture of the new house once the family is all settled so that everyone here can see what they’ve done for someone in the community during what can be a pretty tuff time for some.

If you guys can make any small donation, really it’s going to help. $10, $20, $100. It’ll add up and a family won’t become homeless right before Christmas.

You guys can send anything ya want/can to my ***pal addy (LadyHoldem at Comcast.net ) just be sure that you put in the comments something about it being for the house so I’m not running around crazy trying to see where the monies are coming from.

    TOTALL COLLECTED SO FAR

    > $50 + $25 + 12.42

    Thanks smile.gif

Oh i am sitting here crying, i can feel this families pain and will do anything i can to help. i …as most of you know, just went through the same horror as this family, and the cap family helped me and my family stay in a home and not on the street. i haven t been making much as an affiliates lately, but whatever i get this month, i will contribute, and then again next month some of my earnings….we must keep this family going, and they really need to know that there are people out here who care….that is what kept my family going and i willnever forget it.

god bless, and thank you lady holdem for being a wonderful friend. i will be in contact with you by the end of the month.

Thank you guys soooo much! Got your donation Brandon and fwd’ed thanks bunches!

Here’s some neato stuff I posted in a couple forums, please excuse the cross posting.

Also you’re totally right Brandon, we’re a huge community, some moderate donations already made a difference.. the landlord may actually let the family stay.. instead of a moving fund, this could become a staying fund..

I sent the first P@yP@l Payment over tonight..

Ah, see now I’m all teary eyed! Thanks so far you guys! I’m surprised by some of the names. It’s super neat to see people actually helping a stranger and their family keep their house.

You guys are great. Wouldn’t it be just awesome if they could get the landlord to take an extra deposit or something and let them stay?

I’ve had tough times in Nov/Dec in the past, and well.. they suck. I’m sure they suck equally for everyone, but as a mom, I know how bad it can suck.

Here’s that Link again, you know you want to click it ;)

We just rec’vd a $101 donation for our community writer! I’m amazed! Landlord is considering letting the family stay in the home if they pay one months rent in advance, and one months rent in deposit.

So we’re looking at right around 1400 to stay, or enough to move..

I’m phyched, I had huge hopes, but I was nervous about posting, so glad I did! Wasn’t sure I’d get a response, first time i’ve really done something like this.

A domain seller has also offered to share proceeds from his auctions :)

    Another $75 in donations today!

    RIGHT NOW

    We’ve raised about $300
For $1400 they might be able to stay in their home..

So we need to raise another $1100!

    Think it’s possible? I do.

    Only $950 to go :)

Even $5 guys, when the family opens their email, and see’s that someone went to the effort for them, that’s huge. :)

    Hi all,

this is the first I’ve seen of this thread (I’m not the most detail-minded person so its not a surprise) but thought I’d mention it that you might bump the thread once in a while. I’d not seen it if Trips hadn’t bumped it.

Good luck and good things come to those that do good things without any profit to themselves.

I suspect that might be true of programs that were to contribute. They may swing an aff who was on the fence about promoting them towards their doors. MHO.

I don’t see any harm in naming programs that stepped forward to help. If I am out of bounds for saying that I apologize.

You’re absolutely right! I should have thought of that, thank you, and ty for your donation too :) Any properties that donated here, even $1, please post your logo so we can see who it is that supports us as a community, a family, and a partner when we need the help the most!

With some cash the family has earned + the donations from here, they’re down to only needing $300, and they got the green on staying.

Because of this effort and everyone here, they get to stay :) (So long as they come up with the $300! That doesn’t of course mean we have to stop helping out, with things such as thanksgiving dinner, christmas.

But.. guys .. We didi GREAT! :) :)

    Only $300 more to ! :) :)

    Hi again,

this may help in this situation and may not. … but I don’t doubt before these troubled times are over this thread will be read by many others seeking inspiration.

and maybe somebody said this and I read it here in which case I am officially in dire need of a vacation :) but anyway supposedly there was a law passed that says you can’t be evicted during these troubled times … and I think that might have been more for those that own than those that rent but its worth checking into …

… I remember now. my GF’s GF (sorry, just platonic … them not me … but that’s another story and I’d need proof of age to be able to tell you plus a note from your dr saying you’re in good enough health to endure extreme shocks and revulsions)

…. now that I’ve got my dirty joke in for the day :)

her friend really did call and say that she’d read there had been a law passed that basically said they couldn’t be evicted (because they are in same shape as everybody else) and I know they are renters … this is in Missouri and my GF says she doesn’t know if its across the board or just their state. But worth your time checking out I’d think.

I also know first hand that up here in CT. You can not be evicted from an apt. or home during the winter months if you have young children.

So any time after Nov.1st until April 1st. you cannot be evicted if you look into this, through your community action places in town, or salvation army…etc..they will know the rules in your state. But if you have kids and its winter…you should be safe… i think you would have to agree to paying the rent every month during these months, and then its up to the landlord in april if an eviction is still nesessary.

if i can find out more i will post it.

You guys actually won’t believe this. I didn’t. But anyway, overnight, yesterday, more than $1000 was donated. Mostly from one source who ‘wishes to remain anonymous”

Think that does it guys, the rent, and the basics for the holidays, actually between the last two days, we way out did the goal (Which really rules, because I hadn’t originally thought of freakin paypal fee’s!) :). Now don’t gambling affiliates rule!

We have some laws here that protect ulity shut offs that could harm health. So I have heard of people having the doctor write a letter to the electric company explaining that lack of heat/water is not good for childrens health and avoiding that.

As for the eviction thing, don’t think that’s made it here yet. I managed apartments for a few years, and I do a lot of information referral stuff, could just be I haven’t heard of it ‘yet’ though.

Thanks again you guys. I’ma go.. drink hot chocolate or something all luxurious and special now :).
