GuestThis is pretty serious stuff and total and complete BS. Its nothing more than freakin’ free speech that we do.
we neither entice anyone to gamble nor does money ever exchange from our hands to the players so no … we are not the same thing as online casinos.
geez! the gov’s gall just is infinite.

Inactivethat article from the telegraph is complete bullocks. although its a bit unreal that some guys actually named their software as “Mujahidden Secrets 2” (if you had something to hide, you wouldnt choose a name thats so obvious), the article doesn’t even explain nor hint on how in the world these terrorists could use online gambling for their benefit…at the end of the day, planning terrorist attacks is not really in the same niche as making people gamble online.
perhaps what they are inclining to say is that some terrorists are affiliate marketers? wtf…Mr Thomas Harding had too much crack on NYE. He makes very strong claims with zero substantiations for them…you get bashed for this kind of stuff when writing essays in universities, let alone in the telegraph.
this is either simple propaganda/marketing ploy to drive traffic to their website or telegraph is going for a different niche – tabloids.

InactiveTwo terrible articles with no substance and clearly no knowledge of online gambling.
Irresponsible from such big publications.

InactiveTo be fair I wouldn’t even use the Telegraph to wipe up my jizz even if there was only that and the cat available.

InactiveSaw this thread, just thought we’d post our two cents. We certainly don’t give validity to the claims that online casinos fund terrorists in the US, but, hypothetically, if they did, then regulations would help stop that and also…
Not only would regulation lead to a safer environment online, but it could lead to the capture of terrorists around the world. If these same terrorists that are laundering their money were to do so under a regulated system, the government would be privileged to information of their whereabouts.
That is of course only if operators cooperated with the government, much the same way Betfair (Betfair?) and other sportsbook sites, help catch players/refs, in sports gambling cheating scandals in the UK.

Inactiveme thinks the word terrorism is being thrown around to such an extent that it has lost its original meaning.
by now, anybody who doesn’t pay taxes is pretty much considered a terrorist. and god forbid if you have an opposing point of view to the ruling party, then you are in bed with communists & terrorists together.

vladcizsolMemberYeah ,whenever the feds want an excuse for excess they come up with a boogieman.
In the forties it was Nazis or Japs (their term) behind every tree waiting to destroy us.
In the fifties and sixties it was Commies and the Red Menace that we had to be “protected” from at all costs.
In the seventies and eighties it was drug dealers who we needed to “weed” out so more freedoms and rights for ordinary citizens were taken away “for the good of the country!”
Just say No!The nineties we didnt need a boogieman because the Democrats held sway. The closest we got was a war on Presidential female aides and cigars.
The last eight years the “menace” has been Al Quida and terrorists who seemingly are everywhere there is oil or muslims. Why havent they closed all the convenience stores yet one wonders?
Propoganda and excuses to limit our freedoms arent new. They just changes faces every decade or so. Its our turn on the whipping post now. (Kinda like CAP in some circles I guess)
