    I am not an SEO master, but everything I have read says google and the other SE’s don’t even download images (like the Lynx browser) so I don’t think it would effect things one way or the other.

    An image of 130K seems too big to me.

    We publish using a similar technique … and generally can get images down to 25K-30K.

    Try image compression software, limiting the number of colours, testing btoh GIF and JPEG formats.

    You should be able to make siginificant reductions in size with no obvious reduction in image quality with a few tweaks.

    I”d say 45K is three times better than 130K – well done.

    Most sites will pull in seperate images that add up to a lot more than that – so go with it and see what sort of feedback you get.
