InactiveHas anyone tried running a completely pop-up free casino portal?
Just curious–I think that I saw that IntegrityCasinoGuide.com doesn’t have any pop-ups, but I’m not sure if that includes the casinos he’s linking to.
I have a pop-up blocker, so I hardly ever see them anyway anymore. I suspect that a lot of people have pop-up blockers nowadays.

InactiveWe do the gambling safari off a few of the sites but that’s a pop under. And I have a 250×250 pop up on a few of the sites, but that’s only off 1 page. I don’t mind a popup once in a while, it’s very annoying to get more than 1 pop up off a single page and certainly each page having one is even worse, or 3-5 in the case of this guy.
I am not crazy about them but in our case they work the way we do it.

InactiveNo popups, and only 4 maximum 120X60 banners on both bonusrating.com and chipsforfree.com! Hate them both !

InactiveI don’t use pop-ups on the main site. However I do use exit pops on my custom error pages.

GuestHi,
I screwed that up Dom, I meant to put in there “no links for you… for 1 year!” – silly me.
anyway, I use popups for a couple of things; one is because I buy quality traffic; I don’t get a lot of numbers; which looks bad to the sponsors (that don’t know me well).
It is my belief that places tend to shave the nobodies more than those that send a lot of traffic; so I will sometimes to make it look like I send more traffic than I actually do; I’ll use an exit pop-up (out, under, whatever the hell you want to call them  ) on pages where I get free traffic for such terribly sought after keywords as ….
pai-gow tutorial
not a lot of room (or quantity unfortuneately) to work with there; but its still traffic. I could trade it off in an exit exchange but I gotta figure I’d be trading for no better quality traffic and likely for worse traffic.
At least this traffic is genuine. I can think of many PPCs where they’d send me all the traffic I could handle for 2 cents each and I could then trade that traffic and clean up if that were the case. Personally I’ve had very little luck with traffic coming from an exit pop under converting into anything profitable.
The numbers are there granted. but the conversions to a depositing worth-while player just aren’t there.
Perhaps I didn’t try the right place; but I’ve tried several without any type of success worth speaking about.
and I like to use them on review pages. The pop unders so that after the surfer has read the review; if they close the window; Perhaps the casino can sell itself when I was unable. (that’ll be the day, if anything I think after I get the player all ready to sign up; that some casinos actually scare-off or dampen the player’s enthusiasm with all the BS they’re hit with; $50 bonus; …… but if you do this wrong, it don’t count. and this, etc… )
but it could happen. hope springs eternal and all that…

InactiveI like to “play” with bits of script and the dhtml slide in layers look like pops but aren’t seem to retain the novely value and get good clicks. I figure if an ad can make jaded me do a double take then it will do that for others too.
I hate pops but the fact is they do work and some of the CTR stats sorta make me wonder why so many people click them. I think in total I may have clicked about 2 dozen banners ever (apart from testing my own).
