InactiveCongratulations, your site is drawing attention!
Do you think your player value equals the amount of the CPA?
I like to charge a base fee for listing plus a percentage.

InactiveI agree. If you can get an upfront fee plus a percentage, or even an upfront fee against the CPA, you’re better off because you’ve got some capital to play with, which you can use to generate more traffic or content.

InactiveThanks for the feedback
I will check this out…
I will try to set up a hybrid deal of some sort..
High CPA up front + small REV SHARE
I wont settle for something even close to my current affiliate costs!
Thanks a lot!

vladcizsolMemberBe EXTREMELY careful with the terms and conditions of the offer. I foolishly accepted an upfront CPA payment from a casino group I had worked with before under a paid placement hybrid.
Because I had worked with them before, I based my acceptance of the deal on the conversions and player value we had always had with them in the past.
Guess what happened? Magically once we switched the deal to the CPA package conversions were cut by 90% and player values went in the toilet. It was the same spots I had used with them before PLUS additional space and yet now they SWORE that the stats were correct and somehow my traffic had changed!!!!
To make a long story short I had to keep them up for six months LONGER then I should have just to satisfy the number of players they purchased. I KNOW they got at least five times the number of players they purchased and I end of getting shortchanged big time for my spots. Had I just left up the usual casinos I had in those spots under Net Win I would have been WAY ahead of the deal. But I got greedy and jumped at what appeared to be a fast infusion of “upfront” cash.
:grunt:

You will end up sending them a lot more traffic than you originally signed up for.
I would do it for a placement on your pages only, and forget about the CPA.

InactiveYep. Placement fee up front and then percentage.
I never do the CPA.

InactiveWhen I contract out space it is for a monthly fee. ($200 to $2000 depending on teh site and traffic).

InactiveI can echo Prof’s experience. I refuse all CPA deals now – even pre-paid.

InactiveHi, do you have a link to your site?

They want to pay before I start promoting… Like on TV advertising..
What should I do?
The CPA is very good!
They are quite big
should I accept this?
or affiliate is better?

That’s the best approach in my opinion as well.
Bet22,
Being offered with deals like this is definitely flattering and boosts one ego.
Keep in mind that you are being offered with such a deal because the casino has noticed your traffic has a high conversion ratio and by offering you CPA they can earn more while paying less.First, I would to congratulate you for your success.
Seconed,
I strongly suggest like some replies above that you’ll drop CPA and focus on revshare, you will most likely never regret this.Third,
If any program finds your sites has high potential and offers you such deals. I think you can make some extra money buy selling them ad spots.January 5, 2006 at 3:48 pm #679919Anonymous

Not exactly how it happened to me, but on at least two occasions after accepting upfront CPA payments, I mysteriously could not convert players. And it was very clear to me that I was being screwed, just as it was obvious to Professor.
Needless to say, I do not work with either of these South African-based organizations any more. Well actually, I don’t work with any operators any more in an active manner, but at an appropriate point in time I will resume marketing with only 4-5 operators in my portfolio.
