    I agree.

The Spanish for one is awful, no offence. But these web based translators aren’t any good. My guess is that users would read a few lines, be amused, and then click off. Moreover it could leave a bad impression and never return.

Any suggestions? Most translation services I’ve found would be very expensive for translating a decent sized site. Would love to find someone who could do a good job at a reasonable price.

    The spanish is bad.

Anyway, if your visitors are not too ambitious in terms of text/literature, I would say that you may still have some banner clicks.

Speaking as a surfer/player, when I go to a page that isn’t in my language and a translation is offered, my first thought is not ‘what horrible English’. I’m not there to trash the translator, I’m there for information that may be available on that site. If the translation is so bad you can’t make heads or tales of it, that’s a different matter, but a poor translation isn’t a turn off for me. I appreciate the fact that they offered a way for me to access the information on their site. What is a turn off is long download or processing time.

Hiring a pro to do your page is a great idea but is not a one time thing. It would have to be done every time content is changed on your site. Maybe a better idea would be to marry or date a linguist

If anyone ever need something translated into French, feel free to shoot me a PM. I believe my rates (per word) are reasonable, but I guess that’s relative to each. :) However, at the moment I can’t take on too much volume at a time.

Not speaking any of the 9 languages, I had to “assume” the were at the very least accurate enough to convey the message presented. Well, they must be fairly close due to my log files reports, traffic has jumped significantly and my one day’s logs showed hits from 14 countries and dozens of hits, resulting in SALES IN ONE DAY!

So, I have to agree with Soiuxx (sp?) that people are interested in information, not translation faults. Of course, perfect transactions can be bought. I hate to even think what the overall cost would be for 9 languages, updating these everytime a page change is made or page added! (This one will automatically update at whatever timeframe you set daily, weekly etc.)

Dead accurate or not it is still a real bargain at $67.00! Considering the results delivered!

I sent a link to this thread to the author, to get his response for possible improvements.

I do appreciate all your input, critical or otherwise.

Remember one thing though IT WORKS!!:D
