Inactivewar wrote:Illegal or Unethical Affiliate Activity will NOT encompass any activity related to the algorithmic positioning on search engines as we cannot police how Google or any other search engine enforces their policies.Hi War
Just to clarify, if the spammer/unethical affiliate is producing clear black-hat pages as were previously discovered and lead to the decertification in the first instance, how does this sit within that phrase?
Cheers

InactiveI think this is welcome news in the face of ever increasing BH utilization. I appreciate 888’s cleanup and it appears to be working. Excellent work!

vladcizsolMemberWhat they are trying to say is they dont want to be put in the position of SEO police.
IE if people buy paid links or take part in three way link exchanges that violates Googles T&Cs so do you want 888 to ban that affiliate? If people keyword stuff their pages do they get banned? Etc…
888 acknowledges that site scraping, content theft, google bowling and other obviously blackhat practices which ARE illegal and wont be permitted, but they dont want to get drawn into algorythemic seo policing.
I agree with that stance.

InactiveIf that’s what that means, that’s cool.
The phrasing of it is extremely broad, so it tripped me.

InactiveWell, I am relatively new here (to this board anyway) and this seems like an amazing piece of influencing. David vs Goliath. But give 888 credit where credit’s due- they are engaging with the webmaster community.
Which brings me around to asking now that they are back in the fold- what does everyone recommend promoting 888 wise- the rev share or the bounty payment. I hear on the grapevine that 888’s conversions are good, but that their retention is not the longest. The million dollar question, I know, but would be interested in any thoughts.

InactiveHi Rach,
To be honest if I were you I would see how things unfold with 888. There are many good programs you can start promoting and hit the ground running with.

InactiveOK, well if the Prof says rev share then rev share it is. Thks for everyone’s help on this, I will also bear in mind Webzcas’ suggestion to sit on the fence for a wee while – he seems to know his golden geese from his turkeys
