InactiveI believe the last one was held in April. This makes a lot more sense because it will be warmer out.

InactiveUsually they are at the end of April, this year in the beginning of May.
Tulips and such should be in full bloom in Holland…

InactiveGooner, I must agree with the professor.
These conferences are one of the backbones of the industry and without them we would not be where we are today.
I know you have not attended yet and probably are not aware that the community you walked into is based on the connections and comeraderie we have established over the years attending such gatherings.
Please don’t sabotage these very important events. When there are specific issues with one of them, you know we all get vocal about it, you have witnessed it.
Expansion to foreign markets is vital for many of us, and this conference will be a great help to those who need to adapt to the current market.

InactiveThanks Professor and Dominique for your support!
Gooner:
Thanks for your comments!
It’s true that I haven’t travelled halfway around the world to be at one
It’s really too bad that you haven’t ever given yourself the opportunity to attend a CAC.
The conference organizer and the CAC team work around the clock, very hard, all year long to bring this industry a very well prepared, organized and beneficial conference.
Per your first comment above:
Or has he pulled his head in to realised that it’s a serious situation?
We all realize that this is a serious situation and so we should all be working together to get through these tough times.
“United We Stand…Divided We Fall”
Having said all of this…we would love to see you in Amsterdam this year…if you would like to attend feel free to PM me and we can work something out to get you a pass for Amsterdam. We would love the opportunity to welcome a “newbie” to CAC. I am sure that you would not regret it.
Have a wonderful day and we hope to see you in Amsterdam!

Thanks for the offer – but it’s not the cost of the pass that’s the issue at all
It’s the airfare that kills us – 20,000kms to travel taking around 40 hours means business class which costs around Euro6,000 return per person.
… and I’d want to bring my partner too … so it’s a fair chunk of “cabbage”.
:notify:As for the situation – yes it is serious – something Mr Lesnick did not seem to realise when he wanted to to continually insult all non-attending affiliates at the last conference … with signs and during his opening and closing remarks … and behaviour that I’ve never seen any sign of contrition for.
:dontget:Good luck with your venture.

InactiveCAC events have always been pleasure to attend. CAC has a great contribution in getting the online gaming community together, both in the affiliate and operator space.
Rightly pointed out by Dom, it has been the backbone of this industry for sometime now.
The event in Macau sounds interesting. Asia presents enormous opportunities for this industry and it would be good to see what the experts have to say on this. Let’s support them in their new endeavors.
Thanks

InactiveCan someone explain (without any marketing pitches) what exactly is one to expect from CAC in general?
Besides having affiliates meet with each other and with aff managers.
Except the comments from the organizer last year (way to go speeking your mind Gooner) I am pretty impartial to CAC, which has always look to me as “fishing ground” for affiliate managers, and God knows we get enough of that in our email boxes daily

Also I was looking trough the speakers and the agenda (95% of which is still to be announced), and I really did not see any names in the marketing business which I have ever heard of.
I see a few webmasters which will speak on stuff such as “payment options” and other things which not even the casinos themselves have figured out yet.
I even see a spornsor who will talk about “creating microsites” (I leave the interpretation of this to one’s own, but to me sounds like “creating a lot of small websites”)…Anyone cares to justufy the on-average $3-4,000 expense associated with this trip?
P.S. I know the hotel is close to the Red Light District :satisfied , but I dont think most affiliates will be able to afford a room that close to the palace.

Inactive:withstupi (sorry, I always wanted to use that…)
I have been wondering the same thing as stupid. I have never been to an industry event. Is it worth it? I have a family, and explaining why I have to go to Amsterdam will be a chore to say the least…
On the other hand, I have been very concerned with the industy as of late. A chance to discus these isues in person with people in the know sounds good. But then again, is anyone really in the know these days?
