InactiveI’m actually making a conscious effort not to see this movie… I hate these end of the world type movies. Even though I know they are not real (although this one is based on a real calendar) they scare me just a little.

Oh YES we do know … complete and utter bollocks of a movie ..
But great special effects !
:hattip:Mind you most Hollywood movies are awful now – Transformers? Hulk? Batman? Spiderman?
What happened to the days of a blockbuster actually having a decent script and a moderately beleiveable plot?

:flush:Comic book Super Heroes movies are great and certainly weren’t created to win any Oscars, except maybe for the last Batman movie. They appeal to a wide cross-section of society, from the six year old kid to the older intellectual, but obviously they may not appeal to everybody.
My favourite are the Batman movies. :popcorn:October 13, 2009 at 3:52 pm #804839

My favourite are the Batman movies. :popcorn:My fav is the batman movies too! i loved the last one. Heath Ledger made it unforgettable. Although, some of the movies Hollywood puts out are pretty much a waste of time, I still think that some of them are way ahead of the curve. Look at the Siege movie..that came out so long ago and yet its soo relevant to today…

:flush:here here! What happened to great actors and actresses being in the biggest movies? Why is it that we get the likes of Megan Fox in the most expensive movie of the year. She is good looking but has the acting talent of a low level porn star. what a joke.:rollover:

Seriously though, the movie you listed Gooner are based on the comic books, so it’s understandable that someone might want to make a buck out of something that was so popular on paper.
What did you think of Rambo?

Really?? Even the last one? I haven’t seen it yet but the previews looked great. Ok fine he is an old man! But he can still run with the best of them!

He is also a lousy shot, he must fire about 20,000 rounds per movie and only kill about 50 bad guys. :wink-wink

Awww poor guy! Isn’t he like 60 years old? Ok, so Rambo obviously isn’t a fav or yours. What would you say is a real quality action movie?

Cloverfield, Defiance, Gran Torino, No Country For Old Men, Mr. Brooks, The Bourne Identity movies, The Silence of the Lambs and the follow up movies. For Fantasy / Thriller type movies – The Lord of the Rings trilogy.I’m not a fan of Horror movies.
Regardless of genre what is your best movie of all time?

InactiveLooks like a fun film to see.
But these end of world predictions are kind of silly as the end of the world has been predicted for 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and now 2012. The Mayan’s actually never clearly predicted the end of the world, but the end of time for the Mayan people which could be very true. Wiki 2012 and read the entire article as it is interesting what they say as they never mention end of the world but people intepreted it to be that.

I can tell you this. I dont think the world is going to END. However, there will be some catastrophic things happening at that time. It silly to say that on one specific day the world will end.
Check this out..we are getting pretty prepared…
Also have you heard of Planet X? Nasa discovered it in 1984…

I would say my best movie of ALL time…this is a huge decision…would be the Matrix Trilogy.
Lord of the Rings would be next for me as well. :wink-wink -
