and i wonder why i never get any bing or yahoo traffic. it’s coz there is none any more!
Wow….if this is true, then Google has really resurrected itself. I was under the impression that Google’s #’s were down, Yahoo’s were down, and Bing’s was up. This points to virtual monopoly for Google. IMO, Firefox is a superior browser in terms of functionality and footprint, over IE, so those #’s don’t surprise me in the least.
From what I have seen, a number of sources trust these numbers. I wouldn’t use them in a calculation, but I believe the overall trends of up or down to be true.
I also find it interesting that Macs, though they have made it seem like they are so popular, are only controlling 10% of the us market and less than 5% worldwide.
Considering that Mac OS was under 5% a year ago, being over 10% now is a huge increase. From what I remember, Mac has been udner 5% for several years now, so 2009 was really strong for them.
Not sure why anyone would think Google’s market share was slipping. Must be all of those Bing ads. Google only continues to gain market share despite MS best efforts.
Also not sure how reliable StatCounter is, we used to use them until Google Analytics came out, so I’d imagine that’s the same story for many other websites. Most of the industry uses Hitwise Data as the most reliable source. Google is the only search engine increasing their market share according to their data.
