    Redirects can also be triggered by google bots that are scanning your site.

    They’ll visit all the URLs and go through and if you are counting on your own webstats you’ll have no way of telling.

    It would be great if you could get “industry ratios” for
    – Clicks -> downloads
    – Downloads -> registrations
    – Registrations -> deposits

    But it seems to vary greatly between affiliates, and also each affiliate varies quite a bit between properties. So I’ll watch this thread with interest.

    For my own stats :

    – Clicks to registrations varies a lot (perhaps I have bots too?)
    – But I get nearly 50% of registrations turning into depositing players at most sites.
    ( Casino / Poker / Sports – all seems to be similar )

    Hope that helps a wee bit.

    I think if we get enough webmasters to respond we would get a significant sample size in order to make some very basic assumptions with about a +-10% variance.

    If we had the Prof and Dom add their numbers together I am sure we would get well over 10,000 redirects in 1 month. If we could get 100,000 redirects in 1 month with 500 real money depositing player, then we could say that a webmaster should get 1 real money player for every 200 potential customers that are sent to various casinos.
    In my situation, I would take the 200 players ratio and calculate that I should be getting 5 real money players. If I am getting 1 customer, I would then look at my advertising campaigns in order to weed out the bad advertising.
    I would probably check my stats over 3 months in order to get a sample size I am comfortable with.

    I have excellent and very detailed redirect statistics. I can associate over 98% of my redirect traffic to SE searches, PPC, etc. I exclude all bot redirects automatically. My information comes from the server web logs which are the most accurate form of tracking. I used to use redirect counters, however I found them to be extremely unreliable.

    I also spot check surfers that go to multiple sites, I check their times between clicking on various redirects in order to make sure there are no obvious patters or “click” fraud types situations. I get very suspicious of surfers that visit and click a redirect within 10 secs.

    Well thats much better stats than me mate.

    I get 1.2m to 1.3m page hits a month on the main site – and cannot track to that level …

    I have to resort to the client stats that give me clicks.

    As I say clicks to registrations varies tremendously.
    registrations to deposits seems a much more constant metric.

    I´m not entirely sure what you mean by redirects but it sounds like that´s the same as clicks. I got about 2500 clicks to one of the big programs here in the last three months and only had a small number of downloads and no deposits at all.

    I´m in the process of removing them from my site, I must add.

    Yes, redirect hits are clicks. I have about 5000 unique visitors, for 1000 clicks. I think that is very good. Over 1 million page hits a month is out of my league, a way for me to go yet.

    I guess it would be better to take about 3 of the higher conversion programs (click to deposit conversion) so webmasters can see if the traffic they are sending is the right type of traffic or maybe its best to contact a few affiliate programs directly?

    I don’t mind which way I get the information, I just feel I need some type of yard stick in order to measure my marketing success of failure.

    I think Wagershare would be a good candidate for statistics as they have an excellent breakdown of information. I’ll dig up my stats and start this, unless it gets shot down by Prof or Dom due to some type of Affiliate program conflict.

    By suck – you must mean travel around the world winning test matches.

    By rule – you must mean lose quite often.

    – lost to Ireland,
    – lost to England,
    – and don’t even start me on the recent Boks record here in New Zealand …
    :tounge2:

    Nice to meet you though mate.
