Was speaking to a long time friend who has been in i-gaming for years. He’s on the casino management/marketing side of the fence. Also has hands on experience in other areas of our industry such as affiliates etc etc.
A catalyst from our conversation centered on the sheers number of hours (approx 47K since 2000) I’d put into the business. Out of that he recommended a book but I can’t remember it now. Point is though, in this book it states that it take around 10,000 hours to become extremely proficient at whatever it is you do.
Personally, when I entered i-gaming years ago, to establish a monthly income of $5K+ a month, took me close on 18 months. In the first 2 years I was working every single day @ 14 hours. Maybe had 15 days total which I didn’t work.
As another industry friends says, “if it was easy everyone would be doing it”.
It’s a hard gig and really it’s not like anything else out there. However the rewards are there if your prepared to put in the hours and never give up chasing your dream
