In Google Australia they seem to allow every black hat site and/or cheating webmaster to get top position with crap content. In one search there are 9 black hat sites on the first 2 search pages………….I know they won’t last forever but why the bl**dy hell they are there at all baffles me.
Hi Mate,
I’m an Aussie too and I feel the frustration. If it’s not blackhat biting at our heels, it’s hackers, hacking unsecured edu.au WP sites and injecting iframe casino url’s. Which skyrocket to the top serps.
Regardless to what Cutts may state, Google has always been, and continues to be open to manipulation. And frankly, I don’t see that changing yet.

google might be the number one source of traffic for most sites, but it is not the only source of traffic.
Speaking of traffic, it’s not the quantity that matters, it’s the quality.
What we do as affiliates in the gaming industry is worlds apart from that of main stream affiliates. One doesn’t need 1000+ unique a day to make decent income. My flagship .au site averages 250 unique a day and has done for the past 4 years. Albeit, its lost a few top serps thanks to Penguin/Panda etc etc. But it’s now climbing back up. However it’s the sheer number of long tails which produce 90% of my highly targeted money traffic.

Yeah there a re a lot of Blackhat sites moving up,, they will hold for a while then get killed though.. Remember that slow and steady is the best.
This is merely a general observation.
If being a gaming affiliate was easy, everyone would be doing it!
