At some point, after elections, there will be a movement to look at internet gambling taxation, as a way to help dent the enormous deficits that we currently are dealing with. This is a no-brainer for sure. It is not a politically favorable move right now, prior to elections, and that is why it is not being pursued. However, regulation and taxation of online gambling will bring about Las Vegas entities into the fold, who in my opinion, will be less apt to rely on Affiliates for advertising. Regulation and taxation could be the deathknell (long-term), of the affiliate. For me, from a business self-preservation standpoint, I would hope things stay the way they are for as long as possible, even though the current climate is far from desirable.
