I like going to two a year with lectures, and one spring break type. That’s my limit pretty much.
Yep. Personally I think that the more conferences that pop up, the more people will just stop going altogether..
They cost enough already let alone “in this financial crisis.”
It’s great that the conference organisers are making money out of it all, but I think they forget the money has to come from somewhere.. and when that somewhere disappears because it has no more money, there will be no more conferences..
I personally think Alex puts on a great show… and I think the organisers of all these conferences should sit down together and have a chat about doing co-sponsored shows or something. At least if there were less shows co-run by 2 groups there would be a better expectation that most people would be there.
Bring back Vegas!
