I think that LinkedIn.com is the best social networking website in the world, and is the one for business networking. They are professional and also offer good support if required. By the way, my Facebook profile and groups are not working at the moment. I was using Facebook and my business groups in a business-like fashion, with business updates to my business network, and then I got a message from Facebook that I wasn’t using Facebook in an appropriate fashion. The messages went with “Faceboook limits the number of times a user can send the same message or make the same post. I’m currently awaiting action from Facebook”. Lesson… be aware that Facebook may not support some business use functionality, and one may officially break the T&C’s of Facebook unintentially, but actions such as posting news clipping updates and urls to news media coverage etc to one’s network, as I did. It’s always best to own and operate your own websites, as I do (I have 4 of them), so that you have ownership and control of your online work, not leave it up to chance of an admin at a social networking website company. I won the Hitwise Australia top ten award again yesterday, and I don’t need Facebook, but thought I would give them ago. I am disappointed that Facebook hasn’t gotten back to me within 5 days, and I’m a qualified journalist and have worked for some of the worlds biggest ISPs, and do technology reporting. I am hoping that Facebook sort out the issues, not just for me, but for others. In the meantime big thumbs up to LinkedIn.com, and to owning and operating your own websites. I may speak also on this at some upcoming media and gaming conferences.
