The fact that he is a Democrat seemed to be a bit of an oxymoron. However, his state has one of the worst unemployment and per capita rates in the States. This is a desperate (and unedcuated, I might add) measure by him to add to the state’s revenue, and for him to come out looking like a hero (except for the in-state Poker and Casino players). My guess is that if the decision is ever enforced, this is something that will escalate to the Supreme Court. There are obvious technical workarounds for in-state players, but the real losers in this will be our beloved gambling sites. Ironically, if they are forced to re-brand, this will undoubtedly be a boon for affiliates. Nonetheless, I hope this just withers away and dies.
