Hi all,
I just wanted to say that I went thru this a couple maybe three or four years ago with JF and a player they had sent a check.
While it did cost me some money because I run a guarantee … I was always confident Brightshare/JF would get the player paid and they did … it just took a while.
I believe that it will be that way again. I know that doesn’t pay this month’s bills but perhaps it will take away a little of the stress.
Lloyd I’ve got faith in ya. Perhaps something good could even come from this which I can point out an easy place to start and that’s with the check thing. Lloyd that kind of set up where the check is cash is a recipe for disaster and it might be viewed as lucky (for Brightshare) that this happened so that you can find a better way before (as someone mentioned) you end up losing a whole batch of checks that went out.
Think about it. Thats a lot of money somebody would have to eat and it would be a mistake to think that you’d get many of your affs back if they got stiffed for even a month’s pay … and that’s not because we’re not loyal but rather because we’ve got our backs against the wall and cannot absorb such a loss.
Affs would be understanding but regardless of how understanding they might be … they simply could not financially justify continuing to promote an entity that as wonderful as it has been for so many quality years … might yet again the next month have the same thing happen again.
Now is the warning. Now is that time I just described only you’re getting off easy because instead of it being a few affs it could have been a whole slew who had checks get lost/denied payment/whatever unpleasant scenario … when that check is enroute from half way around the world its almost a surprise every time it makes it …
To be in the situation about needing the check back before you can issue another one … man that’s just really a loaded loose cannon on a ship heading into rough waters.
I really hope the powers that be will be seeking a better process because surely you can see what i’m talking about this being a huge recipe for disaster and the saddest thing about it all would be that we’ve got one of the few good guys being shone in an unflattering light and on the other side the innocent affs who simply want paid for the job all ready done.
There’d be only a lot of losers if a scenario like I described were to happen.
Affs, those that have other options than receiving a check … you all would be the only other party who should deserve to lose your payment (wait, let me explain) because just as Brightshare will deserve to lose all those affs if a batch of checks were lost and my scenario did happen … because if they weren’t aware … now they are so it would be negligence … in a sense … that they didn’t act and find a better way now before such a thing happens.
So are the affs, who now are aware that using the check method to get paid when there are other options available is not a good idea … so if things go bad for you next month then you are guilty of negligence (in a sense) because you knew that these people had trouble with the check payment method (for this month) so now is your time to act and switch to another method even if it means signing up for some kind of banking solution you had not previously wanted to pursue.
If Lloyd’s hands are tied then at least those that can help make a difference … should try. I have an alternative payment solution (not the check method) and I have not had any problems so I can attest that if you have another option available then it probably is the better bet.
Good luck to all. I very much feel your pain as I know if I missed a payment it during these current times that it would be a very rough month.
