Great tip justred
Qantas, Emirates or Thai airways are my recommendations…
Another thing you wont need to worry about in Sydney is pickpockets and crime..
I would feel extremely safe walking down the street at a ridiculous hour of the morning by myself. The only thing we have is junkies, but if you don’t go anywhere near the cross you should be fine..
Darling Harbour has some awesome clubs…
A couple include The Docks, Pontoon, Cargo Bar.. my favourite used to be the Daintree but they closed that down apparently. There is also a sportsbar right there for any sports fanatics.
Another couple of good bars in the city: Zeta Bar (@ the Hilton), Europa Bar, Venetian Bar.
Ive also heard good things about Ivy, although never been there.. The Establishment is also poopular..
In the east, there is the Eastern at Bondi Junction, Coogee Bay Hotel, Bondi Road Hotel. The list goes on.
Kings Cross has a reputation for clubs too, although you have to be in a particular “scene” to enjoy yourself there, and judging by the affs I met and saw at the parties in Barcelona, I would say that not many people would enjoy the area.
Most of our pubs are called hotels here.. So if you walk past somewhere that says “Johns hotel”, likely its a pub.. which means, lots of beer.
Tourist stuff includes the main things: Harbour Bridge, which you can climb and watch the sun go down with a 360 degree view of Sydney harbour which is amazing btw..
Sydney Opera House.
The infamous Bondi Beach and Iceburgs
Sydney Zoo – awesome
Centrepoint tower (awesome view, rotating restaurant)
Luna Park – has rides and attractions, right on the harbour.
The rocks and paddys markets
You can catch the ferry from the zoo over to darling harbour..
Lots of stuff to do in cirqular quay too.. which is right next to the rocks and opera house.
If you feel like travelling out west you can go to the olympic village and see where the 2000 Olympics were held.. They have concerts etc there now. Rugby grand finals…
There are also some factory outlets over there – great for cheap, cheap shopping.
All in all, there is a crapload of stuff to do in Sydney. Its a big place.. You can get a train to anywhere that is worth visiting, or a bus to anywhere else..
Things aren’t too expensive.. It all depends on where you come from I guess.. I think currency conversion is approximately
1EUR = ~1.50AUD,
1GBP = ~2.5AUD,
1USD = ~1.10AUD,
CAD = ~ 1.20AUD.
And I forgot to mention, Australia has some pretty hot women (Jennifer Hawkins for example), not to mention the awesome accent
