Most believe we are doing something shady, or we are lazy and refuse to get “real jobs” and just lounge around all day and “play” on our computers. You get this crap from friends, neighbors and relatives alike.
Then at a CAP event you are suddenly surrounded by people just like you. People who get it. They KNOW how challenging being an affiliate is and the work involved to achieve even moderate success. They understand the sacrifices made and endless hours spent glued to a computer screen while our families are at the movies, mall or watching tv together.
WOW! that is exactly the way it is! When I get to the conferences I feel refreshed to hang with friends and meeting new friends is even a bigger plus. I met a few people from CAP that I have been wanting to meet for a long time now.
The conference was a huge success for me again and I really enjoyed several good friendly debates, the only draw back was having certain affiliate managers being really rude and demanding my attention when I was in meetings with others or just speaking with friends, I hope that this does not happen again, what is wrong with taking a few mins to train your new affiliate managers on general manners when it comes to these conventions? It was bad enough that I had to leave the hotel a few times and conduct meetings across the street at cafes.
