This is not uniques, this is just visitors, and no, there are not anywhere near that many new depositing players.

You have to take into account that this is more like a reference and entertainment site. It has over 7000 pages and most of them are purely a public service and do not generate any revenue.

The vast majority of visitors come in by bookmark. Most are there to look something up. Most of these are experienced players who are already signed up under you guys. Plus, like I said above, this also includes those who do not stay around.

I am not going to post all my stats, but I was tickled to see the traffic flow reach that number recently and thought to include it in the press release.

A site that large is also quite difficult to keep userfriendly. With a small site, the answer to the visitor’s question is usually just a click away. This is impossible to achieve with a mammoth site. So you do lose visitors because they are not inclined to click through to what they are looking for. If I chopped it all up into 100 page sites, there would likely be a lot less visitors and more uniques and sales per page.

It’s just a different business model from most sites. It has it’s pros and cons. It took seven years to build, for one year I made no money, what little it brought in went back into it. And for another three years I invested most revenues back into it. It took trust in the future, patience and lots and lots of unpaid work.

Today, 4 months of the year I work purely for the IRS, 4 months I work purely for staff, and the rest I work for myself.

I am not complaining, it works out for me. I did set out to create a fun, mammoth site from the start, and I wasn’t driven as much by the money as by the project itself. I had no idea how it would turn out, and most affiliates back in the day told me I was nuts and the site was useless.

I never built for search engines or aff programs, I always built purely for the player. It’s nice to know players appreciate it.

Who doesn’t appreciate it is the United States – afterall, I work 4 months of the year for the IRS and 4 months for US citizen’s livelihood. I am good for the economy. The whole industry could be a savior to the US economy, but people are too blind to see it.
