1. Republican presidents can veto congressional law just as easy as a democratic president. If the bills from congress are so outrageous, why isn’t bush vetoing them? The republicans can stop any bill in the senate with a fillabuster, so blaming bush and the republicans for the crap they’ve done/allowed is in fact correct.
Bill Clinton shut the government down by vetoing budgets he didn’t like. George should’ve grown a pair of balls for use against congress if he was so powerless.
2. US law and society was much more socialist in the 50s, 60s, 70s, than today. yet the US economy and society was and still is the most free economy of nato/g8.
These repeated claims of socialism aren’t just silly, the evidence doesn’t support the fact. What wealthy industrial countries grew faster than the US in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or the last 8 years? I’ll bet that the US won most decades and if it’s not the countries will more growth would likely be more socialist than the US ever was/is/will be, think Netherlands, Sweden even UK under thatcher was considerably more socialist than the US ever was.
