I went there in June for G2E Asia and really enjoyed it but beware it is NOTHING like Vegas and may people aren’t overly impressed with Macau.
I am sure it will become like Vegas as time goes on but right now it is very focused on gambling and not on entertainment. For example in the mighty Venetian which is incredible and unimaginably huge there is just one bar you can drink in (Its called martini or something like that) and is normally just full of us westerners whilst the Asian are out on teh gaming floor –
If you go to Macau I would recommend you stop for a few days in Hong Kong which I found really cool then do a few days in Macau and if you have time fly on to Thailand, Vietnam, beijing or something as it is dirt cheap (check airasia.com) the guy I was with got return from Macau to Bangkok for 120 USD $!!!!!
Anyway – If you do go let me know and I will list some of the better things I did –
Also another good guy to ask is Spearmaster – He knows Macau really well and can help/advise your other travel in teh region. maybe worth PM’ing him
