Great post – this happens in every day life.

Some people will steal & don’t care who they hurt/affect in the process.

But rest assured, what goes around comes around :)

rest assued it does.

And so the story goes, I waited patiently for two month back in 2004 for a reply from a vendor to use their product images and descriptions on my niche retail site.

In 2006 low and behold this clown steals all the images and descriptions for his own website and renames the site a name quite similar to mine. I know this to be true as he didn’t even have the smarts to change the image file names that I made up and copied the text descriptions word for word.

I also had an eBay store selling the same items, the clown opens an eBay store names it similar to mine again and whenever I would add a new product he would wait, see how it did and then add it to his store.

Last May I get a call from a lady that worked for my vendor telling me I don’t have permission to use the images or descriptions and must remove them. I say yes I do. She doesn’t believe me. I tell her I don’t plagiarize.

I forward her the original email from 2004 sent by the manager that gave me permission.

Apparently she must have busted the guy that stole the images from me as she knew exactly who he was. He must have said I gave him the images.

She was quite happy when I emailed her the link to his matching eBay store and thanked me for pointing it out as she only knew about his web site.
