Hi again all,
waste a couple of hours is right. its so easy to do trying to accomodate and not be a pain in somebody’s rear-end and plus you don’t want to have to wait to finish the project so you try and read the faqs which I personally feel should be called everything you already know and nothing to address your situation.
most places out-smarted themselves and excactly like G said, these are much smarter people with much more knowledge than myself who create these sites. For example i spend sometimes … well however long it takes to click every possible link that I either don’t know what it does or think it might be what I’m looking for – because I totally don’t understand the terms for what should be the simpliest of tasks.
And the last thing I want to do is learn one more system.
In aff sites they have for getting banners and link codes … titles ranging from .. “sales tools” … to “creatives” to “campaign management” all kinds of titles that if you asked the designer what does creatives mean? he’d say banners.
Hello? Is this mike on?
… then on top of that some of the sites have different meanings to same titles so you get to go through the process and when you reach a title called “campaigns”, you think it means banners, and choose that option and it takes you to a different area where you add-on a tracker, etc. that’s when you realize you’ve got to start all over.
makes me want to scream. most times i have learned to just give up and move on. but I was optimistic today so i took time out to post in hopes maybe somebody would listen.
RA listened. and I go in there and wallow around in the banners and don’t worry about getting kicked out. I go right to them. (I’m on old system, don’t know about the new one).
Brightshare is also good about not kicking me out.
that is so frustrating because it makes no sense. set up the banners/link codes section separate from whatever they’re worried about protecting with such stringent boundaries and let the world browse thru mine. I hope everybody the comes there takes two of everything.
now here’s why that’s so right. If a competitor wanted one of my banners for whatever reason, they could literally get it quicker than I could logging into my aff site. Simply visit my site, (no login there) and copy my banner … then paste it where they want.
meantime I’m waiting to login. and if I’m lucky I’ll be able to grab a banner too … before i get kicked out (cough-Fortune) …
