The second I realize someone is trying to sell something over the phone I say: “Not interested” and hang up.
I don’t care who and what it is, if I didn’t ask you to call me, just don’t bug me.
Snap! I don’t care who they are or what they’re selling – it’s soo unlikely that they have an offer that would even interest me. It’s cold calling. Usually I say “no thanks” and hangup in one motion without waiting to hear their response … CLICK!
:hattip:
But occasionally (if they’ve called at an inconvienient time) I’ll say “oh hold on you need to talk to John” and bring the phone back into the familiy area and put it down where we are having dinner or watching TV whatever.
The sales person can hear activity (is that John coming to the phone now?) but no-one is ever coming back to the phone. I wonder how long they hold on to the call for (spending their money!) before hanging up.
