Thanks for you input, Nick & Daera!
It has become more than obvious that BetCris has no intentions to “follow the trail of money” and do the “right thing”, as they claim. In fact they however already “know all details” about the person that received the funds, as confirmed to me by their CSR Alex and Mike Hertz, the manager of Skybook, where some of my funds were transfered to.
There is a chance that the old BoS database was indeed used to initially obtain my BetCris account details, however, the new password and log in for my account were given out to the other person again TWICE after I made BetCris aware and talked to them about it for more than an hour on the telephone already!
I sent them copies of my ID, utility bill, etc. to confirm that I am the real account owner, while the other person only needed my name, birthday, and address to receive all the new log in information again.
BetCris has all the knowledge and abilities to find out what really happened with these funds. In fact, they already admitted that they know who received the money in the U.S., but now deny having said this again.
Of course BetCris does not want to pay funds twice, but should I be the one to pay for for their mistakes, in a case that provingly resulted from their missing security standards?
As far as legal action goes, I would not only want to take it against the person that fraudulently accessed my account, but also against BetCris themselves for providing my personal details to a third party without requestion any documentation or any sort of proof. I however would only take such step as a very last instance, in case nothing else helps. Considering the amount of the money I got stolen, it is a valid option but unfortunately BetCris is licensed in Costa Rica, which would bring some more difficulties.
There is really nothing I can add to this story anymore at this point, as everything is up to BetCris. I mentioned all details in this thread already, though I understand that its lengthiness by now may confuse people a bit. If anyone still has a question, I will be glad to answer it!
Daera, Dom & Nick, thanks again for posting your ideas and opinions on this. If BetCris eventually stops stonewalling me, I am hoping that we will be able to find a fair solution for this still ourselves, without all the additional struggles. Otherwise I will have to take this further, and I must admit that I am already very close to it. If nothing changes, I will spread the nightmarish word about them more and more.
-And let’s not forget… I am by far not the only player who got his BetCris account accessed by other people due to missing security standards at this company.
